House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) says he was “pushed…into this fight to defund Obamacare” and that those who pushed him “never really thought it would work.”

In his weekly press conference yesterday, Rep. Boehner said defunding Obamacare wasn’t his idea, but that of conservative groups—and he doesn’t care what they do next. …

“I was pushed.”

Cry your eyes out.

Then bend over for Obama and the Democrats.

The man has been compromised I tell you. You don’t go from the great “Hell no” speech when Nancy was in control to now being a tool of the left. Dingy Harry practically spit in his face a couple weeks ago on immigration. I don’t know why he doesn’t resign if that’s the case even if he doesn’t spill the beans.

Conservatives who fear an Article V convention process ought to consider their objections, usually rooted in the fear of a runaway convention, in the context of speaker Boehner's remarks. Do we really believe that a majority of Republicans in the United States Senate will change the mentality of John Boehner? Do we really believe that obtaining an even more unrealistic goal of a filibuster proof majority in the Senate or a veto proof majority in the Senate will change the mentality of the men who are running the House of Representatives and who would be running the United States Senate?

Mark Levin's arguments in favor of and Article V convention are grounded in the idea that we have a runaway convention operating at the controls now and it's called the United States Congress and the administration of Barack Obama. The operation of the federal government today bears no moral relationship to the Constitution as written and formally amended. Worse, the day-to-day operation of the Obama administration bears no relationship to a government that bears no relationship to the Constitution.

We are already living in a runaway convention situation.

Similarly, just as we cannot hope for rescue from the likes of the Republican establishment, so we cannot hope to be rescued by the judicial branch. We saw that when Chief Justice John Roberts bitch slapped us with is opinion in Obamacare and we have seen it repeatedly in the decades since Roosevelt's court packing scheme.

If we do nothing events will take their course and the country will experience a calamity, probably a fiscal calamity, but probably also a calamity of liberty and, ultimately, a breakdown of morality and social order. Against these calamities we must balance the risk of a runaway convention.

Those risks are greatly mitigated by Republican control of the state legislatures. It is not the Congress which is part of the federal branch but the state legislatures which will have the most influence over the conduct of the convention. While it is true that the Constitution is silent on how these constitutional conventions would be conducted and financed, nevertheless, there is historical data suggesting that the states would exercise control. This is, after all, essentially a fight by the people in the states against establishment in Washington. That is why it is unrealistic to expect Washington to reform itself and why it is realistic to believe that the states will not permit Washington to runaway with the convention.

Finally, the math works in our favor rendering it very unlikely that liberal amendments would get past conservative Republican state legislatures.

We have Boehner and McConnell, and we had Republican control of both branches of Congress and the White House during the Bush years. That is what the Republican establishment wants to see restored. Is there anything in reason that suggests that if Republican control of all three branches of the government is restored, that we will not have a repeat of the fiscal irresponsibility of the Bush years? Is there anything to suggest that we will have better control of the borders than we got from Bush? Is there any reason to believe that we will have better control over renegade agencies such as the State Department and the CIA as we had under Bush? Will the leftists infiltration of the entire federal bureaucracy be undone? Will we get any better judges than we got in the likes of John Roberts?

If the answer to these questions and many others is "no" then the sole remaining option is to be found in Article V.

Your kind of thinking ignores spiritual and leadership effects.

When we take out the sellouts and those that are compromised, we inspire those that have kept a low profile to come to the forefront.

Boehner and others, as expressed by Ann Coulter in the days following the cave on the debt ceiling, revealed with 100% clarity that Boehner and a few others control the campaign coffers of most in the GOP caucus.

When Boehner is removed, then fear is removed as well and many members will find independence; and with independence comes courage.

So we should not think of who precisely will replace Boehner, we think of firing up the base and liberating those who have been held hostage by Boehner and his power brokers.

Removing Boehner is therefore an act of giving birth to inspired leadership.

Watch ‘Twelve O’Clock High’ with Gregory Peck for a lesson in leadership that is still taught in the War College. It shows that when all is dark and gloomy, hopeless and resigned as lost, it takes a leader who puts everything and everyone’s lives at risk to demonstrate one and only one thing, to put the mission above all else. And when putting the mission above all else, even one’s own life, comes into existence, then a realization of winning the mission as well as an awareness that winning has a cost brings victory into reality. This is when reversals in fortunes are born.

I still think you are looking to Boehner and not to God to be your savior.

God’s preferred way is to deny man the glory, except the general glory of participating in the gospel.

The spiritual trouble with you is that you would fall all too easily for a man who is full of himself, a kind of anti-Obama with ideas that happened to be conservative, but on the same spiritual plane, ultimately glorifying self. Both the port and starboard sides of the ship to hell arrive there.

Boehner might actually prove a better placed chess piece if you will not go wailing off for excuses not to do what you can with him.

What are you trying to do to get mileage out of the current situation?

You sound like you are looking for maximum self pride. God wants maximum fight. Not the same thing.

He was pushed. GOOD!! Keep pushing!! The more energy you spend complaining about pie in the sky (now if you can actually bake it on earth that’s a different thing, and should not be refused) the less you have to push with.

Geeze

Babe Hefron died this week, rest his beautiful soul.
We were watching the Band of Brothers

Juxtapose them against this horrible, cowardly fraction of a man, and, while I’m at it, Paul Ryan, they henpecked weasely excuse for the kind of Irishman that made life miserable for many of my ancestors by being political disloyal and blackmail able, ushering in the NONA practices, along with every one of them bill bennet Ann coulter and the rest of the Rubio usual rand Paul, ‘oh I see their point’ suspects
And you’ll envision a sorry bunch.

In BOB, there were bad actors, Sibelius, Dykes and others. It’s not a generational thing. We’ll get it

Nevertheless, boner and his little Irish lucky man are spending our childrens’ inheritance, dooming them in a drunken stupor to enslavement

Mark Levin sounded resolved last night. Like a dad facing a son who’s been locked up in jail overnight. Rock bottom
