Which isn't to say PolitiFact doesn't function as a state propaganda agency. For in the past--when it actually mattered, which is to say before ObamaCare became first a law and then a practical reality--PolitiFact vouched for Barack Obama's Big Lie.
In her lie-of-the-year write-up, PolitiFact's Angie Holan includes the following acknowledgment:
In 2009 and again in 2012, PolitiFact rated Obama's statement Half True, which means the statement is partially correct and partially wrong. We noted that while the law took pains to leave some parts of the insurance market alone, people were not guaranteed to keep insurance through thick and thin. It was likely that some private insurers would continue to force people to switch plans, and that trend might even accelerate.
Her "half true" acknowledgment is itself a half-truth. As the Washington Examiner'sSean Higgins noted last month, in October 2008 PolitiFact rated the same statement, from then-candidate Obama, as flatly "true," on the ground that "Obama is accurately describing his health care plan here."
We're not making this up. PolitiFact actually rated Obama's promise as "true" on the ground that in making the promise, he was making the promise.

Originated by the Tampa Bay Times (who endorsed Obama) and partnered with the likes of the Atlanta Journal. Hardly unbiased. Just more biased lies purporting to be apolitical.

They tend to always give the benefit of the doubt on Dem statements. They look at intent and not outcome. They’ll cite the Dem cited sources to back up the Dem statement. When dealing with Republicans they use sources that tend to disagree for speculative purposes and don’t give the benefit of the doubt.
Look at their pants on fire ratings for Ted Cruz. They call it a pants on fire lie that Obama weent on an apology tour. Their cite? That it wasn’t his purpose and technically they weren’t apologies because in several all he did was complain about America’s actions and promised to do things different.. which technically isn’t an apology. Another rating of pants on fire went to a claim he made against an opponent saying he’s always supported an income tax. Their reasoning? Another technicality. Technically, the guy supported a payroll tax and not an income tax. Totally different! And that makes it a pants on fire lie.
Another was in regards to the contraception mandate not forcing Catholics to change their beliefs or be shut down Why? Because they could just violate them and stay open! So it’s a pants on fire lie to state there’s only two choices.
The St Pete Slimes changed its name after its reporters were caught on FBI wire tapes telling a PLO terrorist employed at USF that they would help them bury there terrorist links and smear anyone who reported the facts. The St Pete slime staffers went off on anti jew and Israel rants too.
These taped calls discussed how the radical leftist reporters work to stop the facts from getting out and actively work with fellow radicals to destroy the US.
The Slimes had always been a far radical America hating rag.
It set up a far left think tank to hide its profits and to harbor fellow radicals.
This phony fact website is a product of this radical non profit scam organization.
Democrats can lie if they “believe” their own lies. And they often simply “misspeak”.
