How the West was lost by the selfie president
The New York Post ^ | December 15, 2013 | Michael Goodwin

Posted on 12/15/2013 5:41:15 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

My bookshelves sag with encyclopedic volumes arguing that America and the West are in decline. But proving that a picture is worth a thousand books, the “selfie” seen ’round the world ends the argument.

It’s official — the government of the United States of Obama consists of boobs and bores and is led by a narcissist. It is no consolation that Great Britain joins us in racing to the bottom.

President Obama’s flirting with Denmark’s prime minister would be shameful on any occasion. That it happened at the memorial for Nelson Mandela only adds to the embarrassment.

But the “selfie” episode also symbolizes the greater global calamity of Western decline. With British prime minister David Cameron playing the role of Obama’s giggling wingman, the “look at me” moment confirms we have unserious leaders in a dangerously serious time....

Obama is an Indonesian where everyone associated
with the fraud is paid off, afraid for their life, or dead.

I believe the solution is for conservatives to realize we have sold out America far too much, and need to return American production to right here.

China now makes a massive proportion of what is sold in America’s stores.

In factories staffed entirely by Chinese.

Bring back American production.

How does one accomplish that without massive government intervention in people’s free choices?

Tariffs.

America needs to begin using tariffs.

But it has to be UNIVERSAL. The government should have zero power to levy or rescind tariffs except in total.

We start by charging (everything) imported into America a 10% tariff. By this I mean everything.

Food. Gas. Anything which enters America.

This will also help pay down our national debt.

America has never had a universal tariff.

“What’s the solution?”

IMO, there is none and he knows this. We are stuck with him for another 3 years.
Even if the repubs take the senate and keep the house in 2014, there by putting zero in a ‘box’, he still has executive orders. You can count on plenty of EO’s the last 3 years.

Well let’s start.

We have charged import tariffs throughout American history.

Right now we don’t, for the most part.

I say we need them badly. But a universal tariff on everything imported, is the only way I can think of to keep government from getting involved in picking winners and losers.

I say we charge everything imported, one tariff.

But we need to protect American jobs.

Now.

“We are stuck with him for another 3 years.”

Yes, and the fact that those who put him in office for round 2 will suffer the most is cold comfort.

Hey, maybe the illegals will be made happy, and isn’t that the most important thing?

I just hope the stuuuuuupid republicans know that amnesty will cost them everything they’ve gained from the failure of Obamacare.

““What’s the solution?””

Get involved locally. The only campaign I confess to being active - money plus time - in was Brown’s first. By the time his second came around I told myself “The only thing that needs to happen for him to lose is for people such as I to do nothing. That came true as he gave me no reason to work for him.

I plan on selecting candidates nationally as well as locally in MA and focus on them in the coming year. I can’t do everything, but I can do something.

the GOP needs to dump chasing minorities and diversities and go after the ages 25-45 demographic, who need to realize their future and the future of our nation is in their hands

these people need to look at their lives and where they expect them to go in the next 10 years. I believe 30 year olds of all creeds and colors have common interests that outweigh the color of their skin or where they came up from

the skepticism these folks had for their teachers in HS needs to now extend to the pie-in-the-sky political leaders who get elected based on looks and personality or massive corporate funded PR campaigns- not core values

do 30 year olds want free condoms or a free economy?

and conservatives need to stop eating our young like Paul Ryan over single issue disagreements, by sitting home and letting the communists ascend just because of some leaked disinformation rumor about Ryan or Cruz or....
We need to stop being played.

Bring back American production.

OK. Who are you going to hire to do the production?

We have a useless generation educated to feel good about themselves with useless degrees who believe such work is beneath them.

The entitlement attitude of many is so poor they think they are owed a living for doing nothing.

Those of us with the "tribal knowledge" are retiring as fast as we can.

I agreed with going after the 25-45 group. Forget the blacksand the Jews, The other racial minorities seem to be softer, like the independents.

I, among many others I know, will NOT support or vote for ANYONE who caves on immigration. Enforce our existing immigration laws (not to include the carve-outs and exceptions The Obastard introduced via executive order).

ANYONE who surrenders to the illegals is toast to me. They will never gain my support.

This is not my concern.

My concern is our current situation strongly emphasises sending American jobs to other countries.

For an entire generation, we have sent American jobs to other countries. Republican and Democrat presidents both presided over the off-shoring of American industry.

America can manufacture things. It is time for us to begin to return American industry.

Now.

“IMO, there is none and he knows this. We are stuck with him for another 3 years.”

1. World stage.
Those who would be our Allies will wait for a grown-up to be in charge of foreign policy again. Those who would be our enemies will make use of the opportunity.
2. Domestic.
He is damaged goods. Cannot regain his credibility — he has been shown for the liar he is. Popularity in Nixon territory. He will continue to pack the courts and etc. as long as he can, but will be thrown under the bus by traditional Dems and / or the handlers when it is clear he is doing their goals more harm than good. Clintons threw him under the bus, which freed others to admit the Lie and which was the beginning of his credibility and poll slides.
3. With the Senate changing hands (we work hope and pray) exec. orders can be overridden.
4. Depends on how long he can take the humiliation. He should get a foundation job somewhere and slither off stage.
