SEATTLE (AP) — Students at a Seattle-area Catholic school are gaining national attention for their protest over the forced departure of a gay vice principal.

An online petition started by the senior class president of Eastside Catholic was the third fastest growing U.S. petition on change.org Friday, attracting around 15,000 signatures in one day.

The petition was launched after Vice Principal Mark Zmuda resigned under pressure from school administrators after they learned he had married his same-sex partner.

Bradley Strode said the students want to effect change within the wider Catholic Church, with an ultimate goal of altering the Catholic Church's stance on gay marriage.

I am not so sure about Shep Smith. He is certainly a leaner on gay issues, but he was married for six years in the late eighties and early nineties. I am not aware f him being outed. But then again I could give a crap!

He’s as much as admitted it on several occasions. Many homosexuals have been or are married to members of the opposite sex as part of their cover or confliction. Do you believe that Mr. Obama or former Governor Crist of Florida are actually heterosexuals?

But the Pope does not condone homosexual activity. He has been outspoken against it many times. What he has said is he thinks that Catholics may spend too much time talking Abortion and gay than working to help the poor and underprivileged.

He has never been to the masses I go to every week because I never here any talk about abortion, birth control or homosexuality. That is the real problem. Too much touchy feely God is love BS and not enough Hell fire, brimstone & Damnation. It’s more than obvious that they are doing a piss poor job of catechism already!

“Very good point - I’ll be teaching my grand kids otherwise”

Strong Christian parenting could turn it all around in a few generations.

We have a pastor here in Seattle that tells his congregation to have larger families.

He figures that if all families had four or five kids then in a generation or so Christians in Seattle will outnumber the gays and liberals who don’t have children and die off.

I wouldn’t know, I don’t care. I guess all that eye make up and leftism would be wasted on a heterosexual.

On September 12, 2013, Smith and Fox News announced that, along with another multi-year renewal of Smith's contract, Smith's role in Fox News would shift. Smith will become the managing editor of Fox News's new breaking news division. He will become the anchor of Shepard Smith Reporting, a new program airing at 3 p.m. EST, and The Fox Report will be phased into the breaking news division as well. All of these events are scheduled to occur in late 2013.

Well....there is one positive aspect in gay marriage...

Their genes are dead enders. Gays do not propagate more kids with their genes.

“Thirty years ago, they would have said, take your kid, and take your money and get out.”

They should say that today too. TOTAL lack of catechesis in this school. There will always kids that go along with “whatever.” But this points to a BIG “plate of fail” for parents, and educators to fail to teach the faith about what the bible says. Too many parents “assume” their kids pick up their own values just because they take them to church, or put them in a parochial school. Too many Catholic and other Christian educators “assume” that the kids are getting correct upbringing from home. So the gospel is “sanitized” and the kid gets taught the SECULAR value of the liberal media, who has had Christian values under assault for decades, because they are NEVER challenged in the public forum and get shouted down when they do. So because the kids NEVER hear the reasons against homosexual BEHAVIOR, they “assume” it is because “Christians are mean, and Jesus wouldn’t want us to be mean.” Which is crap. We all have our own crosses to bear. EVERONE strugges with something. Some have it harder than others. It did not “help” a damn thing when homosexual behavior was declassified as a dysfunction. Not on scientific grounds, but because at the time they didn’t want these people to have a “stigma” attached. The fact remains that in almost all cases it is psychological. And because they are told they are “normal” they do not get help. The “attraction” is not the sin. An attraction is an involuntary feeling that free will can not control. BUT you CAN learn to control how you ACT on those feelings. And in that you have total free will.

The students who signed the petition should be suspended for excercising their right to free speech? Didn’t A&E just suspend someone for their exercise of free speech?

“The students who signed the petition should be suspended for excercising their right to free speech? Didn’t A&E just suspend someone for their exercise of free speech?”

The context is this is NOT a public school, but a private one. By signing this petition a student is directly going against the values the school wishes to uphold, presumably the parents sent these to the school so inculcate the Catholic faith and what these kids advocate goes directly against that faith. I think an assembly, more than one it sounds like, is absolutely necessary to explain to the kids why this was done, and frankly for the administration to apologize to them for NOT doing the work of teaching why homosexual behavior is wrong.

the school may well be partly at fault too for hiring the guy in the first place. a) I DO know Catholics who are homosexual, who do their very best NOT to act on their same sex attraction, and try and avoid practising homosexual acts. They struggle with their crosses like we all with ours. b) and that said do we also want to automatically “punish” all gays by automatically not hiring them? What if you had a guy that was a faithful Catholic (to the best of his ability to avoid homosexual practices) but was a good math teacher? You probably give him the benefit of the doubt. And maybe this school knew the VP was gay, BUT did not know that he was pursuing homosexual activity? Do we want go send out questionaires every month or so? They took a chance.

Now, if they KNEW that he had no intention of keeping a chaste life, they should NOT have hired him in the first place. If they knew he was living a gay lifestyle, but hired him anyway, they need to apologize to the parents AND the students for putting up with it, or hiring the guy. But let us say they did not know, but in this case the attempt to create a “gay” marriage it becomes crystal clear that the guy was not living up to the school’s moral clause.

Just like, presumably they’d fire someone for drugs or a teacher advocating abortion or other grave activities that go directly against the church’s teaching.

They are apparently anxious to increase their percentage. With it more in the open, one would think that the percentage is much higher.

I saw a poll a few years ago showing that when the results were separated out by age, the percentages of homosexuals in younger people were significantly higher than in older people. Which shows you their recruiting is working and there is no genetic reason causing it.

I think they consider Ellen Degeneres "coming out" to be the big turning point for their movement. It made a fairly popular, mainstream TV star the primary visible spokesmen for their lifestyle. The entertainment industry continued to embrace her even after her sitcom failed and made sure she would never disappear from the airwaves. You can also credit Howard Stern for promoting lesbianism on his show since the '80s and MTV Real World reality show for putting token homosexuals in their show since the early '90s.

At this point, there are homosexual characters all over TV shows aimed at all age groups. Apparently over 10% of people in the D.C. area are homosexual, which shows they've made a concerted effort to have influence over politics and the government. The educational system promotes homosexuality as they promote all left-wing causes, brainwashing their students belief system while handing them the degrees that enable them to enter positions of power in D.C. and corporations.

Some things cannot be reformed.

Holy Redeemer in San Francisco needs to be closed. This school in Seattle should be closed.

Well, it must be universal. Here in the Philippines I see my fair share of gay boys. I am still clueless as to what causes homosexuality, other then some genetic or chemical imbalance.
