Motel guest says bedbugs put him in hospital.
HAMPTON, Va. - A bedbug infestation at a Peninsula motel is so bad, it put a man in the hospital. Health department officials told WAVY.com it isn't a new problem.
The Hampton Manor Motel sign claims to be host to the distinguished traveler, but they also appear to be host to bedbugs -- and not just one or two.
"You don't see them, but you feel them," said Hampton resident Robert Malcolm. "You lay in bed and you might feel something. You wake up and there are about five or six on you."
Malcolm has been living with bedbugs at the motel on Pembroke Avenue. They've been eating away at this skin every night, causing numerous scars. The tiny bugs have put more stress on his already weakened heart, which put him in the hospital over the weekend.
"You feel them crawling and when you catch them and squeeze them, it isn't nothing but blood," Malcolm said.

I think a steam bath or sauna might be more effective.
If he can't see them he needs glasses. Bedbugs are a little smaller than an apple seed and easily stand out against standard white linens used in hotels.
What is the problem? A single dose of DDT has been found to wipe out all the bedbugs in a room.
Oh wait!
Until they develop immunity. Which they will.
Thanks for the link - some of those hotels i’ve stayed at
Something the MSM won't mention ...
They’ll work, too.
Guests have to moved out of infected rooms and a very intensive treatment is required to rid of bed bugs. Mattresses and box springs have to be tossed, mirrors and
pictures have to be removed from walls, all switch plates
and outlet covers must be removed because bed bugs are very
good at hiding. The treatment is carried out over a three week period.
1. Check TripAdvisor.com for good hotels
2. Check BedbugRegistry.com for clearance
3. Book if both are OK...
After Checking in:
1. I carry a small LED flashlight that I use to check behind headboard and nightstands when I get to my room. These two areas, plus the corner seam on the side of the mattress are where they hide.
2. Unpack and kick back if no bugs!
oh, forgot...
NEVER leave your clothing or suitcase on the floor. Use the luggage stand you can usually find in the closet. If no luggage stand, use the top of dresser or desk. You don’t want to bring home stowaways.
A local public housing high-rise for disabled people turned out to have a bad infestation of bedbugs. I don’t know how (or if) they ever got rid of them.
