It is becoming increasingly likely that the polls and surveys we are seeing today have a similar fundamental flaw; they are all vulnerable to collapse because of the agenda of John Boehner and the rest of the GOPe (including the Chamber of Commerce.)
The advantages held by Republicans today will be distant memories next November. Nevertheless, the vicious uncalled-for attacks on conservatives by John Boehner, Peter King, John McCain, and their like will not be forgotten. They will become rallying cries to fight against the Republican Party next year.
Those who are tempted to think that since conservatives have nowhere else to go, Republicans will win by default, ought to reconsider. Boehners insistence upon waving amnesty as a red flag in the face of conservatives will lead to the evaporation of the GOPs base support overnight.
The Republicans are fooling themselves into believing that the mere word Democrat attached to an opponent will bring them easy victories, because it wont do anything of the sort after amnesty. To the contrary, Republicans who vote for amnesty will carry a scarlet A on their foreheads; and being backed by The Chamber of Commerce will be a one way ticket to unemployment.
Republicans connected to amnesty will get no base support and no votes of gracias from newly-minted Democrats.
If the tone of this essay conveys the message that amnesty will bring about a big election night for Democrats and the beginning of the end for the Republican Party, Ive made my case.

Karl Roves says GOP will win big next year.
We are doomed.
The problem is, Republicans are sitting on their hands while the Democrats strategerize, and fight.
*********
You captured the very essence of any difference between the two parties. I grudingly admire the Dems for their willingness to fight. To them, politics is blood sport and they play to win. Pubbies are happy just to sit in the grandstands and watch the game.
Boehner had a sex change years ago...from a castrati to a pseudo male.
Thanks to him, the GOP is dead.
The current GOP “leadership” could be absolutely perfect, our people could turn out in droves, and we can still forget about a victory. The other side has taken cheating to a science, and we will lose.
Rove is a just a political hack, an apparatchik without any gravitas whatsoever. The fact that he’s advising the GOP on poltiical strategy speaks volumes.
Republican voters are a smart bunch. They are quickly learning not to give money to organizations like Karl Rove’s corporate PACs, that not only support only establishment Republicans, but actively fight conservatives.
So, Rove, if your moneybag friends like the liberal agenda so much, why don’t they pay for it themselves, not beg conservatives to support the liberal agenda?
The Tea Party continues to do everything right. With each election, it systematically takes out more and more RINOs, whose betrayal is actually more harmful to conservatives than anything the Democrats do.
Eventually, there will be Karl Rove, begging on street corners for lobbyist dollars. The out of office RINOs will be hired by corporations who still think they have influence with conservatives. When they realize that they don’t, they will be out on the street as well.
And when conservatives control the party leadership, there is going to be a serious purge of the party. Liberals will no longer get any significant leadership position.
I doubt it .the mid terms are not an elite campaign from Washington. It is a grass roots campaign with a smaller turn out. Think 2010.
I agree, this is a foolishly negative column by someone who is despearate to make himself seem smarter than those of us rubes who think 2014 will be a good election. In a way, “Coach” is just as elitist acting as the GOPe.
So let me help “coach” out here 2014 will be much like 2010 - where we had a focus on Obama care, and a GOP e who didn’t get it. The elites in DC run the messaging for a Prez campaign .they do not control it for a mid term. Read, learn, accept .coach
Am I misreading something here? Isn’t the reason Obama got a second term because conservatives withheld their support of the idiot republican establishment?
No, they're trying to destroy the TeaParty so they can go back being the loyal, ineffective, opposition.
They've decided that pays better than defending the country.
That's one factor, but to say that's "why" is false ..because it's only part of a puzzle. But a Prez election cycle is totally different than a mid term cycle, so any comparison should be made to 2010, not 2012.
For more complete information, see this:
The GOPe is less of a factor in mid terms.
But, but, but, 'The Brain' is an expert political anal-ist on Fox News!
I hear it everywhere and I think it is a revolt.
It used to be tradition. Maybe we are just going back to what was.
Good point and perspective. This is an off year election with different characteristics.
he problem is that Repubs don’t have to do anything to win. Don’t vote or even bring up Immigration. They will shoot themselves by entertaining that notion. Letting the Rats talk them into the fray. Stay out. shut down all but the essentials. Give the Rats “NOTHING”.
Who ever the media supports, I will vote for the other guy/gal.
Am I misreading something here?
There was a couple billion dollars spent in propaganda. Don’t rule out voter fraud, the democrat way.
If I won’t swallow vomit to vote for a puling treacherous R, I sure won’t do it to vote for an evil D.
