CHEYENNE, Wyo. The developers of what could become the nations largest wind energy project say the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has overestimated how many eagles could be killed by wind turbines at the site.
They say theyre planning a variety of measures to reduce eagle deaths at the $5 billion Chokecherry/Sierra Madre wind power project south of Rawlins, and those steps will result in fewer deaths than the BLM estimate of 46-64 per year.

They should rename the company the Eagle Power Company of Wyoming:
Powering your homes on the wings of eagles [and condors and hawks and anything else that gets near our blade runners].
Power lines don’t move at all, and they kill lots of birds that fly into them.
Take away their Production Tax Credit and see how fast these massive hunks of copper wire fall down.
What happens to little baby Eaglets when their parents don't return to the nest with food?
.
hussein gets off on eagles or any symbol of America being destroyed.
Good place for windmills...Last time I was ever in Cheyenne Wyoming, there were still phone booths, and the wind was blowing so flipping hard, I could barely open the door back up....
Turn way faster than you think...!!~!
If they are like many other birds of prey, one hunts while the other stays at the nest,
Well, for one thing, and I hope no one gets upset - but even though Eagles may fly high, as far as bird-IQ goes, they don’t seem to be close to the top...
Who is getting the $5 billion and who approved it?
I emailed PETA a couple of weeks ago about this. Their response:
Thank you for contacting PETA. We appreciate the time you took to share this with us, and it has been passed along to the appropriate staff members here.
PETA values feedback and inputfrom comments, suggestions, and inquiries to cruelty notifications, news stories, and requests for information.
PETA recently released the following media statement on this issue:
The eagles will pay the ultimate pricewith their livesin this latest federal concession to industry and disregard for the wishes of more than 100 conservation and animal-protection groups, including PETA. Some bird species have learned to avoid the turbines, but eagles have not, and perhaps selling them down the river for the sake of corporate profit can be seen as a symbol of things that are not right with our country’s policies on a larger scale.

Everything about windpower is a lie. Sure 1000 homes will have clean power. Eagle deaths are exaggerated. Al Gore buys carbon credits.
