Well, since the "system" has gone rogue and declared war on the law-abiding, how is this not "beating the system", and how is that anything but good? As an ex-California resident and current resident of Idaho, I was aware of the personal handgun importer law that required registration of handguns if you bring them into the state for over 60 days. It didn't apply to long guns. To assuage the the spirit of that law, I purchased a lever action rifle with 8 rd tube magazine last Summer and carried it to San Diego at the end of September. I wasn't aware of the pending AB 809 long gun registration...or I wouldn't have bothered with the purchased. The radio stations started running ads warning about the pending long gun registration on Jan 1st, 2014. As a consequence, my "new-in-the-box" rifle is back at home in Idaho. I'm back to a disarmed condition while laboring in San Diego :-(

“Undocumented aliens” [illegal aliens to the rest of us] do not have to register their guns in California because they were carried in from Mexico and also bought in California from other illegal undocumented aliens.
Only law abiding citizens will have to register their guns. Illegal aliens are exempt from this law coz they are not citizens. Besides Mexicans need their guns on New Year`s Eve to shoot all over the place up in the air all night long in Los Angeles.

On a serious note I sure do miss where I lived in California. I grew up in South Lake Tahoe and lived in the Sierra Nevada foothills while going to college. I lived in Moss Landing, Ventura, Ojai. Lovely places. BUT, now, as a business owner, it would be pure business suicide to move back there. Everything under my pillow is illegal in the state. The state is going to go bankrupt. The politics are purely socialist to make the coastal overlords feel good about themselves. Now, the only time I go back, is on a layover out of SFO or LAX or visit family that hasn’t escaped.
