On December 22nd Aerosmith Guitarist Joe Perry sent two tweets in defense of Phil Robertson's right to express his "opinions & beliefs." He framed his defense with a rhetorical question about the "crackdown" on freedom of speech. CNSNews.com posted Perry's tweets. The first one from 1:46 pm: "So what do you think about this Duck Dynasty hoopla? More crackin' down on Freedom of Speech in the US or what?"

Nothing like the rockers for, uh... everything good. Now, where is Yo Yo Ma in all this? Pavarotti? Will Willie record a duet with this Joe Perry whoever he might be?

I met the band while flying into Charlotte, back in 1995. Two things were very clear.
Steven Tyler is loathed and visa versa among the band. They won't even sit near the guy. They won't even ride in the same limosene as him.
Second, the rest of the band are very cool, down to earth, and have interests way outside themselves and music. At the time they were working on a cookbook and a line of hot sauces.
Tyler is a real jerk. At the time they had a Falcon 20. Another time it was a HS-125 with updates and a tasteful Aerosmith paint job on the stairs. Not quite like Pia Zidora who had her naked silohette painted as the fuselage of her helicopter.

He was on Sons of Guns with his Wife and his grown Children. The kids looked like Accountants.
He likes his Guns alright. They were building a Firearm for him, forget what it was.

I saw that. I liked how he wasn’t impressed with the Hollywood aspects of the show. At his estate the camera crew got as far as his driveway and that was it.
