I draw no conclusions nor make any speculation.

If you want to verify and see for yourself, go to the link and search for potassium iodide (search results aren't linkable).

FYI.

Didn’t someone post something about TEPCO having a meltdown in Japan? What is the latest on that?

Seattle and environs, from Fukushima. They began taking cesium and strontium measurements 4 months after the disaster, but the government has classified all those measurements. They probably suspect the whole West Coast may be in jeopardy. They’ll keep it secret aslong as they can.

Doesn’t matter. If a nuclear holocaust actually happens, the federal govenment, and especially the politicians are going to be the primary targets, and the priority of the nation that nukes the U.S. will be making sure that the important leading politicians get totally vaporized. Radiation suits do just about nothing against the initial atomic blast and/or shockwave. After the explosion, they will work in making sure you do not have exposure to alpha and beta particles, but not the gamma rays or the full force explosion.

“HHS expecting radiation exposure sometime?”

KI is only useful if there is significant radioiodine in the air, like from a pressurized water reactor breach/meltdown.

KI won’t protect you against anything else.

“They began taking cesium and strontium measurements 4 months after the disaster,”

KI is only useful for the relatively short half life radioactive iodine isotopes. Won’t do anything for Cs or Sr.

Hah, the smart thing to do would be to leave this bunch of rummies in charge during an attack. The chaos and confusion would be of great value to the other enemies, as well.

Its also only useful for young children and people who don’t have enough iodine in their diet.

So for most people it wont help much.
