Good news how well you are doing, Jim!

I was quite impressed with the care given you throughout the whole process you went through.

Answered prayers abounded.

Thanks for the info.

Many, if not most, people have insurance provided through their employer. Do you suggest they cancel their policies and go uninsured?

For of working age Americans, only about 60% get health coverage through their employer. It has been dropping steadily for the last decade.

I was in a weird situation the last few months.

For reasons I won’t go into right now, I lost the health insurance I had for the last five years. I haven’t made any large claims. I do have a circulation condition, but I’m on maintenance medication and have been for twenty years.

The company I had, would not take me back on a personal basis. They gave me a couple of reasons, but they seemed lame to me. I personally think they were scared to take me because of the Obamacare ripples going on right now.

All of a sudden, ten days before the new year, the company agreed to carry me, but the coverage wouldn’t start until February 1st. I couldn’t wait, because my gap would have been larger than 60 days, and this would have impacted me negatively, not to mention another thirty days without health insurance.

It was suggested that I sign up under California Covered. That’s California’s portal for Obamacare. That’s not something I wanted to do, but I needed to be covered January 1st, so the gap without coverage would not be longer than 60-63 days.

So what I opted to do, was sign up with Kaiser (the company I had been with), but I refused the option to have my taxes affected by the transaction each year.

Essentially I have a Kaiser plan that the government isn’t going to help me pay for.

They’ll probably claim me as an Obamacare enrollee, but I’m not getting any governmental help to pay for my coverage, and that seems on the up and up to me.

Some will say that I really benefited from Obamacare, but the truth is, I think Kaiser would have covered me all along, if Obamacare hadn’t scared the surely goodness and mercy out of them. I think insurance companies are very leery to sign anyone on board until they see how things shake out.

This is a real mess.

I was very blessed to be referred by my private doctor to a great surgeon at the VA and then again later when the honey doc took a personal interest in my case. They were both very caring people and tried very hard to save my legs. She was like an angel sent by God. But it was not to be. God has other plans for us.

I want health insurance, not government healthcare. Apparently there are people who don’t know the difference. Most of them lefties, btw.

What is being ignored is how many people just got on free medicare vs those actually purchasing plans thru Obamacare.

In Maryland, 30,000 signed up for free medicare vs 4,000 who got a private plan. Of those 4,000, most have not paid a cent yet and most are subsidized (i.e. you pay some of their cost)

"Like Hell we will" - Right On!

Worse yet, while scores of people are righteously concerned about the NSA and on a personal level the Target Store, how about all the breaches when it comes to our personal medical records?

Healthcare Data Breaches To Surge In 2014.

Government doesn't operate on privacy either when it comes to us. We're just serfs, and the more information they have on each of us to use against us, the better for the powerful to subdue us or weed us out.

Remember that gun grabbing do-gooder in NY who published a list of gun owners with their addresses? Carry it forward to the extreme --- Why not a list the inflicted so that neighbors will know who's exhausting their valuable and limited medical resources? In government monopolies, it's every man for himself.

Exactly. The Founders intended for the supreme court justices to be apolitical and gave life terms to further that goal. Alas, the best laid plans of mice and men. Even so, nothing in the Constitution allows the supreme court to make law or ignore the guidelines set forth in the Constitution itself.

Praise God!

I'm so happy to hear about your miraculous progress, and about your trip to Pismo Beach, where I can still remember digging for clams as a little girl, over a half century ago.

God bless and keep you, dearest Jim.

While I agree with the tactic of non-compliance with tyranny - you cannot nullify ObamaCare.

It was never designed to implement Heath insurance, it was and is a mechanism to DESTROY the existing health insurance market, cause the complete collapse and cancellation of private heath insurance plans and create the climate for acceptance of total government takeover of healthcare.

What ObamaCare does, is empower the government with abilities it never had before, such as access to your bank accounts; mandated penalties and forcible requirements to engage in purchasing what the government mandates you purchase.

By understanding that one of the tenets of Obama’s ideology is to erase the middle class completely - one begins to understand the insidiousness at work here.

If not a single citizen signed up for O’care - it would not nullify the program or end it, because the mechanisms to impose tyranny on a scale never before seen in this country is all ObamaCare is actually designed to do. When they move to Single Payer - the enforcement mechanisms will simply be transferred to total Communist healthcare.

As to resistance, understand the lessons of history. NO despotic government EVER allows it’s subjects to resist it’s mandates, they will use deadly force to impose it’s will. So too will the federal Beast.

Now we may begin to know why the DHS has stockpiled billions of hollow-oint ammunition and have put thousands of MRAPS and APCs on our streets.

Non-compliance with tyranny is our duty…. but it’s going to come at a cost I think few are going to actually be willing to bear when push comes to shove.

But I’m with you on refusing to comply. I just counted the cost is all.

I have two reasons why I won’t participate:
1. Unconstitutional
2. For a bronze plan, the “cheapest” available, it would cost me approx. $300/month and includes a $6,300+ deductible before insurance begins to cover part of the costs.

I hope it all works out for you, DO. I do realize some will have no choice.

BTW today I'm writing out a check for my new policy which is $1000 per month in excess of what I had been paying. $12000 a year, gone just like that.

I do not have words to describe my dislike for Obama and the Democrats.

And the gutless republicans who refuse to stop them.

Yes, exactly. The DC crowd has forgotten they govern by consent. We’re w/i our rights and authority to simply withdraw it by not obeying. Then what? Does anyone doubt they’ll attempt to use force and coercion? If you disobey be ready for the consequences b/c there will be consequences. Its not enough to just disobey...
