The Tea Party is a political movement, not a political party, and it began as a spontaneous reaction to the overreach of the Federal Government.
Spurred on by Rick Santellis rant, video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=1039849853, I, Dianne Belsom, organized a Tax-Day Tea Party Rally in April of 2009 in my town of Laurens. However, it quickly became clear that our movement wasnt so much about taxes as it was about freedom, and it also quickly became clear as to which of our elected representatives were on our side. Facing a democrat-controlled House and Senate, with President Obama in charge, I was desperate for leaders who would stand and fight against the radical agenda that was beginning to be implemented: an agenda which involved more government control over our lives and less freedom. It immediately became clear that Sen. Jim DeMint was just such a fighter, and Sen. Lindsey Graham was not.
One of the early actions taken by the Laurens County Tea Party, which formed in early 2010, was to organize the support of about 10 other grass-roots groups, and we asked Graham to NOT vote for Elena Kagan, a nominee for the Supreme Court. I have found over the years that it is useless to contact Graham about my views on legislation or court nominations: he invariably votes the way HE wants, and ignores the input from his constituents. Kagans nomination proved to be no different, and he voted to confirm this pro-abortion woman who indicated that the Constitution is not the final authority, but instead supports world-governance, www.renewamerica.com/columns/vernon/100524.

Lindsey Graham is a fake “conservative” who does all he can to QUIETLY advance the progressive agenda. This phony needs to be defeated this year and retired to his new job of being a towel boy in one of Washington DC’s bathhouses. He can be himself there and will no longer have to pretend to be something he is not.
Lindsey Graham has ‘gone washington’... delusions of being an elite.
Linda Graham (POOF-NC) learned his politics from John McQueeg (RINO-AZ).
Linda Graham and his fellow RINOs would be wise to order their packing boxes now.
Lindsey Graham is not a progressive he is a backstabber. Lindsey Graham is not a conservative he is a backstabber. Lindsey Graham is not a moderate he is a backstabber. Lindsey Graham is not a rino he is a backstabber. What he does does not have anything to do with ideology. He is simply someone who has an egoic need to stab the people who helped in the back when he is most needed.
Conservatives and (small L) libertarians are the RINOs now. Unwanted and despised by the Party Machine
What Lindsey, McCain, Christie, and all the other 'reach across the aisle' darlings of the establishment are is DIABLOs:
Conservatives and (small L) libertarians are the real RINOs now.
I now call the McCains, McConnels, Boehners, Ryans, Cantors, Christies etc:
DIABLOs.
Democrats In All But Label Only
Which, purely by coincidence ;-) means DEVILS in Spanish.
RINO is an inaccurate term. What Graham beleives and does IS the mainstream platform position of the GOP. Todays GOP is a far cry from what it used to be.
Also...anyone seen/heard about any debates being scheduled?
The GOP needs to return to an America-first focus.
Just saying.
We're conservatives who happen to vote republican because their candidate is usually the most conservative in the race.
But we're not Republicans. THEY are. We're the actual RINOs.
And yet, despite his record, people will line up to vote for him in the next general because, “HUR HUR HUR, HE’S NOT A DEMOCRAT! HUR HUR!!”
“We’ve got to stop calling these people RINOs and realize and admit that WE’RE the RINOs.
We’re conservatives who happen to vote republican because their candidate is usually the most conservative in the race.
But we’re not Republicans. THEY are. We’re the actual RINOs.”
It’s merely a semantic matter but I don’t agree with you. Democrats are democrats, moderate republicans are democrats and conservatives are republicans. We are the only opposition to the what they see as the natural order of things: liberalism’s step by step advance.
This battle has been going on for a very long time, more or less since Hoover lost the presidency. They denied Taft the nomination three times, and gave it over the years to Wendell Willkie, Thomas Dewey, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, George Bush, Bob Dole, George Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney. Only Goldwater and Reagan stand out in this whole period. One went down to bitter defeat, but launched a revolution, which led to the other getting two massive landslides and then a third which Bush squandered in his effort to restore the natural order of things.
I am a republican, in the classical sense of the word and in the political sense of the word. And I support other republicans, not democrats who call themselves republicans to get elected.
Miss Lindsay is the hand puppet of Juan McStain. He does Juan’s bidding at every turn. He needs to go and soon.
Not NC....but SC! (but Burr isn’t much better!)
Oops, my bad. Thanks, did not intend to diss NC’ers.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! to you and (y)ours... '-)
Well you would never knowing it with Huckebee’s ad supporting him as a great conservative.
Start cleaning out the dead wood with new growth and dead wood will leave.
