Totalitarianism is back in vogue
Breitbart ^ | 1/4/2014 | JOHN HAYWARD

Posted on 01/04/2014 8:44:09 AM PST by grimalkin

One of the most disturbing things about Barack Obama's reign of lawless executive power is that it has people fantasizing about outright totalitarian dictatorship, and not in a faculty-lounge-B.S. kind of way. We've always had to put up with the likes of Thomas Friedman at the New York Times rhapsodizing about the joys of Chinese authoritarianism - provided a duly accredited Democrat gets to be America's temporary dictator, of course - but now we've got Jesse Myerson at Rolling Stone daydreaming about hard-core communism as the solution to America's ills.

He's not fooling around, either. He wants the government to guarantee a job and income for every single person, and seize all private property to overthrow capitalism, although he would generously allow the Glorious Peoples' Republic of America to rent the land back to private individuals... as long as everyone is clear that the dictatorship of the proletariat is the ultimate landlord:

Ever noticed how much landlords blow? They don't really do anything to earn their money. They just claim ownership of buildings and charge people who actually work for a living the majority of our incomes for the privilege of staying in boxes that these owners often didn't build and rarely if ever improve. In a few years, my landlord will probably sell my building to another landlord and make off with the appreciated value of the land s/he also claims to own – which won't even get taxed, as long as s/he ploughs it right back into more real estate.

If they could, the leftists in government, media and academia would indeed go on a massive Stalinesque death and gulag spree in a New York minute. We’re talking tens of millions dead, if they could get away with it. Pelosi and Reid and the rest would be joyfully loving the human gore.

We’re that close.

A lot of radical, anti-capitalism sentiment originated during the period of 1850-1900, the age of so-called “robber barons.” What actually occurred during that fifty year period was actually the greatest increase in wealth of all Americans. Communists will always raise the ugly ogre of envy...somebody has a dollar more than you do, and that’s not right. They never give up.

Your statement reminded me of something C.S. Lewis once wrote:

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

The ramblings of mentally ill communist kooks ought to be ignored anyhow.

Ah yes, the politics of envy. So easy to be played in a culture that is so self-absorbed, narcissistic, truly uneducated and let’s not forget immoral. What could go wrong?

Totalitarianism ?

LOL. So many people still refuse to do a little research on the web.

New world order controls both left and right.

It is a waste of time to participate in supporting “left” or “right”.

Ask youself how the major drug lords can launder billions of dollars and never get caught. Even not get bothered by the IRS.

Look up Colonel House. Max and Paul Warburg. The Dulles brothers.

I don’t believe that those who are too stubborn to learn the truth “deserve to be ruled by elites”; nevertheless, they will be.

That attitude toward landlords by renters is why I will NEVER, EVER own rental property. Talk about one version of being in hell.

Ever noticed how much landlords blow?

Ever notice how much, ya know, Rolling Stone hacks, like, condescend to their target audience?

The experience of being a landlord in Seattle almost pushed my sister to conservatism.

To summarize from Frank Herbert, most revolutionaries are closet aristocrats. They favor revolution on the assumption they get to be one of those in charge.

I had the lead paint thing too; no lawyers involved, and it was while we were still living there. You never get to face your accuser in WI.

Ok, there was lead paint that needed to be contained. No I didn’t get a major screw job on it but it was still a pain....

we were originally created as a Republic, but now we are basically a Democracy for all intents and purposes, which is why things are so messed up and we need a strong leader to take charge, throw all the commies in jail and restore our republic by restricting voting to only those who have earned the privilege
