Kudos to President Obama for giving his wife a birthday present we all can envy, indeed covet. CBS News reports:
President Barack Obama is going to give his wife the birthday present that many parents can only dream of - time off, alone, without the children.
The White House said on Saturday first lady Michelle Obama would stay in Hawaii, where the family has been on vacation for the last two weeks, rather than return home with her husband and their two girls.
"As part of her birthday gift from the president, the first lady will remain in Hawaii to spend time with friends ahead of her upcoming 50th birthday," a White House official said.
Just imagine for a moment if President Obama would agree to leave the rest of us alone. How wonderful would that be? He does have it within his power to make the gift to Americans permanent, too. Rumor has it that either his presidential library or presidential foundation will be set-up in Honolulu, so an early retirement to the balmy shores of Oahu would be a great gift to Americans, indeed to all humanity. How about it, Barack? Maybe on our birthday, the Fourth of July, you could bestow this gift.
However, it is hard to read this story without wondering if there is a wee bit of trouble between Mr. and Mrs. Obama. In its December 30, 2013 issue, the National Enquirer featured a cover story entitled, "Obama Marriage Explodes!"

My first thought was to wonder how much it is costing us for FLOTUS to spend extra time in her rented Hawaiian paradise and what is the extra cost for sending a plane for her?
As for my 2nd thought — I would NOT like a gift that left me alone in a strange place. How long is she staying?

So he’s trying to say that Mrs. Obama doesn’t have a nanny and 30 other staffers, not to mention the entire Secret Service, paid for by us, who already watch their daughters? Please don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
Is this his revenge for the way she acted out publicly while he was “hittin on da white wimen” during their South African vacation?
Maybe if HE has the kids, they could give him some good advice.
Have to say, the best gift I can imagine is being free of him

Barry wants to give Michelle time to have a boy toy or two, and He wants his own boy toys in the White House.
I don’t give a darn about their personal lives. But the fact that they are billing us for millions of dollars for their various holidays, vacations, fun in the sun, etc. is really upsetting me.
I can’t believe that any other president would ever have gotten away with this. As much as I disliked Clinton, he never did anything like this, nor did Carter or Johnson.
The closest one was JFK, who seemed to be proud of his inability to keep it zipped (following in the footsteps of his daddy). He married a girl who was a princess and demanded her perks, but he actually stayed focused on his job and even they wouldn’t have done anything like this.
Lol, she’s meeting with her divorce lawyer.
