Kudos to President Obama for giving his wife a birthday present we all can envy, indeed covet. CBS News reports:
President Barack Obama is going to give his wife the birthday present that many parents can only dream of - time off, alone, without the children.
The White House said on Saturday first lady Michelle Obama would stay in Hawaii, where the family has been on vacation for the last two weeks, rather than return home with her husband and their two girls.
"As part of her birthday gift from the president, the first lady will remain in Hawaii to spend time with friends ahead of her upcoming 50th birthday," a White House official said.
Just imagine for a moment if President Obama would agree to leave the rest of us alone. How wonderful would that be? He does have it within his power to make the gift to Americans permanent, too. Rumor has it that either his presidential library or presidential foundation will be set-up in Honolulu, so an early retirement to the balmy shores of Oahu would be a great gift to Americans, indeed to all humanity. How about it, Barack? Maybe on our birthday, the Fourth of July, you could bestow this gift.
However, it is hard to read this story without wondering if there is a wee bit of trouble between Mr. and Mrs. Obama. In its December 30, 2013 issue, the National Enquirer featured a cover story entitled, "Obama Marriage Explodes!"

It’s hard to remember Obama looking happier and more carefree than in the photos of him today walking with his daughters across the White House lawn on their way home.
Instead of Michelle’s absence in Hawaii being a birthday gift from Obama, it’s easier to imagine that Obama commanded Michelle to remain at their vacation home so that he would not have to have her around after his return to Washington.
When has Obama ever been known to do anything for anyone but himself? The ‘’birthday gift’’ explanation seems like a convenient story to cover his desire to be free from his wife for at least a few weeks and maybe longer.
Yes, he did. Especially when Bill & Hillary were not speaking to each other. Remember his African tour when he took 800 staffers to Africa? And her Chinese tour when she took a similar number on a tour of China and had a gold bathroom constructed that she hauled around on a trailer everywhere she went. Then there were the trips that Chelsea and all her friends took.
It’s not like she has toddlers and has a tough time running after them all day. She does not clean or cook so what a asinine headline that this fat lazy pig needs a break from doing nothing.

Well that garden is a lot of work (/sarc) and don’t forget all of her menu planning to starve our children in their school lunches (double /sarc off).
She probably took them with her on vacay! On our dime. That's her usual pattern.
Well, at least this is not about their date night exploits...with that headline I had to wonder.
Since when did it become some lauded, celebratory act to ditch your family? I feel like I live in an alternate universe from these creeps.

She once took fifty, or more, of her closest friends on an extended vacation using taxpayer money, and Air Force planes.

I’ve said it before....She had a “suck the fat out” operation. Bet she’s having another one.
I have been married for 24 years and I have never with the exception of 1 night ladies retreat desired to vacation away from my family. Its not like she home schools, very strange.
