Before I read the article at link, I’m just trying to imagine what would cause a stampede in a mosque (besides ‘Fire’ etc.) .....

This is really poor reporting.

But that seems to be the norm nowadays. We will soon see this:

They're lucky. Several hundred Muzzie pilgrims died in a stampede inside one of the air conditioned tunnels between their sacred moon rock and some other shrine some years back.

The cause: One group of them decided they liked the cool area in the tunnel and slowed down a little to enjoy it.

I suppose if they lived in Pittsburgh, they would just keep driving when traffic backed up at the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.

Xinjiang (Sinkiang) has been Muslim-majority for centuries. Islamic socialism kinda fits in with communist principles, so as long as there are no forced conversions, there must be incentive to tolerate them.

Actually, they have been a problem for China for several decades. As best i can tell from readings, they aren’t very tolerant of “Chinese” people.

I think this was one of the smaller stampedes and only got 244 of then.

But if you put "haj stampede" in your search bar, it seems to happen every 2-3 years.
