Antarctic Expedition to Plant 'Thousands of Trees' to Off Set Carbon Footprint of Rescue (!!!)
Breibart blog ^ | 1-5-2014 | Elizabeth Sheld

Members of the Antarctic expedition trapped in the regions icy tundra have pledged to plant "thousands" of trees to "cover" the carbon footprint resulting from their rescue. The Russian ship Akademik Shokalskiy became lodged in ice on Christmas Eve during a research study on global warming.

Debate has heated up, no pun intended, over exactly how many trees will need to be planted to offset the rescue effort's "damage."

The expedition had pledged to plant about 800 kauri trees in Northland to cover its carbon footprint. Environmentalists believe planting trees helps to offset the impact of burning fuels such as diesel.

They absolutely need to plant all those thousands of trees in the Antarctic, where they have fouled the planet. No fair planting them elsewhere.

Excellent idea! Plant the 800 ‘climate scientists’ in Antarctica. That would save a lot of money for our sane citizens.

The latest lib madness is the movement to disinvest in fossil fuel companies. Yeah, shut them down tomorrow. The effect? The loss of millions of jobs, mass bankruptcies, the mass disruption of transportation, disruption of the food supply, and putting tens of millions of people into the cold, probably with hundreds or even thousands of deaths. Such is liberal wisdom.

What is better proof that global warming has become a cult than carbon sinners must atone for their transgressions against the global warming gods by planting trees.

They are such hippocrites. Even before the rescue efforts they spent huge amounts of fossil fuels to go on their little cruise. Now they are spinning it into how thoughtful they are by planning to plant trees.

The trees will do better if they have lots of CO2 for food.

Wait.
Won’t the darkening of land masses with vegetation simply INCREASE the earth’s temperature?

The idiot professor claims the expedition is in the spirit of Mawson, the Australian explorer. The man’s actually defaming Mawson with that claim. Mawson saved himself with an unbelievable act of endurance. Chris Turney and fellow partiers by comparison are despicable.

Here’s a link to his tweets. Quite a few folks already nailed his dumb ass for stupidity.

How do I get in the business of selling global warming indulgences for the remission of environmental sins?

That is what Cap and Trade is all about.

On the other hand, if all the Global Warming operations were to shut down today, and be treated like the racketeering operation they are,

think of the thousands, hundreds of thousands (millions?) activists, academia types, government bureaucrats, NGOs, will be out of their jobs! Mass bankruptcies, major 'disruptions'. hundreds and thousands of deaths. "Unthinkable horrors!"...../s

How many trees need to be planted to compensate for Al Gore’s travels?

How does planting trees pay for the rescue?

Where are they going to find the trees they will be planting?
Who’s going to pay for the trees?
Will they be planting trees or just seeds?

If they plant a tree, that tree already exists so it already offsets the carbon footprint.

Next time I can’t pay for my fuel bill, I’ll plant a tree or two.
