Mike Enzi should still be replaced! (76% conservative average)

Posted on 01/06/2014 4:03:07 PM PST by cotton1706

Mike Enzi's conservative average:

If you leave out the moderate-protecting ACU (McConnell at 100%, Graham at 92%) Enzi is at 76%. Even with the ACU, Enzi is at only 80%.

Once he's safely reelected, he'll vote for McConnell for leader and will be the next Orrin Hatch or Thad Cochran, a republican that Chuck Schumer can count on for a vote when needed.

Enzi (WY) - 08/19/14 - 80% (Average) - 74% (Heritage) - 71% (CFG) - 92% (ACU) - 82% (FreedomWorks)

Enzi (WY) - 08/19/14 - 76% (Average) - 74% (Heritage) - 71% (CFG) - 82% (FreedomWorks)

Hopefully, some real conservative will take up the mantle. Otherwise, we'll end up with another formerly conservative voting senator who betrays us at every turn once reelected.

This was the whole point of the Cheney candidacy.

She was an establishment dark horse whose real purpose was to take up the mantle of "challenger" and thus prevent a real alternative to Enzi.

Even with the ACU, Enzi is at only 80%.

A couple of years ago we had a Senator named Scott Brown. He got a fairly poor...but not *very* poor...rating from Americans For Democratic Action (ADA),a Maoist organization. He was replaced by a fake Indian member of the Rat Party named Elizabeth Warren.Ten bucks says that *she* will get an ADA rating of 100%...meaning they love her and that she's the perfect Maoist.

So be careful what you wish for.All too often in politics the only two realistic choices one has is "half a loaf" or "no loaf at all"...like with Brown vs Warren.

The term I meant was "Stalking horse"

It is true that Enzi is only 76 on the Heritage scorecard, but the average Republican on their scale is 67, so it isn’t as bad as it sounds. For comparison Jason Chafetz is a 78, Jeff Sessions is 79. Shelby and Toomey are also at 76, Vitter is a 75.

The problem is that the betrayers don’t even give us half a loaf. They are with the enemy on key votes and with us on procedural matters. At one time I would have agreed with you, but betraying Rino rats like McCain, Graham, Kirk, and Hatch are not our friends. Voting more of them in is not productive.

I’m not talking about the Heritage scorecard. I’m talking about his average across the four (or three) conservative rating agencies. Average them out and his conservative rating is closing in on 75%.

And you’re right about the others being around Enzi’s voting record. But those others aren’t up for reelection next year are they. We can replace Enzi with a far more conservative candidate this year if somebody would step up to the plate. 18 years in the senate and a solid vote for Mitch McConnell. No thanks!

Please! I live in MA too. I’m well aware of Scott Brown and I’m very glad he’s out of the senate. I voted for him in 2010 and left my ballot blank for senate last November.

And before he decided not to run for Kerry’s seat, he had one of his cronies installed as head of the MA Republican Party, who then made sure that Gabe Gomez beat the conservative who was ahead in the polls. And the Brown supported Gabe Gomez has now endorsed a progressive for governor.

No, I’ve had it with these types of people.

This has nothing to do with that Scott Brown lefty, who turned against those who got him in office, and who was probably doomed anyway.

And you're obviously thrilled to have Princess Liawatha *in* the Senate.

And judging by the Rovian, GOP-E nature of your posts, you've been in the "Gay" state too long. A state, mind you, that Mitt Romney by his Progressive dalliances, drove the GOP into the ground and into extinction.

“And you’re obviously thrilled to have Princess Liawatha *in* the Senate.”

That’s been a phony, self-serving argument for years. And how the establishment has gotten away with so much treachery for so long. “Hey, the democrat’s worse, so vote for our guy!” They make sure any actual conservative is defeated in the primaries and threatens the republican electorate that a vote for the democrat would be worse than our worthless candidate.

And so we end up with people like Jim Jeffords, who once the republicans had a majority in the senate with a republican president, he became an independent, taking the majority with him, and Arlen Specter, who became a democrat. And Lisa Murkowski, who couldn’t stand that a republican defeated her in the primary, so she ran as an independent. And Dede Scozzafava, who when it became clear that she wouldn’t win, to prevent a conservative from winning, endorsed the democrat. And Charlie Crist, who has become a democrat. And Lincoln Chafee, has become a democrat. And John Huntsman, who wanted to be the republican nominee, but then left the republican party when it would no longer serve him. He will soon be a democrat. And Olympia Snowe, who voted Obmamacare out of committee but then pretended to be against it on the floor (and Mike Enzi as ranking member or Mitch McConnell as republican leader, did not punish her at all for her vote, but any conservative who goes against the grain instantly receives comeuppance). And on and on and on.

Moderate republicans are democrats. And I and scores of others are no longer falling for the “well the democrat’s worse argument.” We need to remove these people from our ranks, because they assist in the advance of liberalism and work to thwart conservatism at every turn.

Never said he was a commie, but about the rest of what I said, did you expect me to lie about Mitt Romney?
