(Colo, IA) A teacher in Colo, Iowa, decided to eat only at McDonalds for 90 days to see what it would do to his health.
The result turned out to be a good lesson for him and his students.
I can eat any food at McDonalds I want as long as Im smart for the rest of the day with what I balance it out with, said science teacher John Cisna said
That was the theory Cisna laid out for three of his students at Colo-Nesco high school this past fall.
Ninety days of Mickey Ds for breakfast, lunch and dinner but with strict daily nutritional limitations of 2,000 calories and trying to stay close to the recommended dietary allowances for nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fat calories and cholesterol.

Nah, I’d rather sue mcdonalds for making me fat.
But did he lose weight in a good way, or is it more similar to when deer get chronic wasting disease?
Olympic swimmer Micheal Phelps lived by eating McDonalds and he ate about 12000 calories a day.
Of course he swam about 20 miles a day.
Or make a movie about it...and shill for more statism.
i would lose weight if i tried to eat at McD’s, too....
since i now barf up their chow within about 2 minutes of paying for it
(I used to love McD’s, it has a taste I really like, but maybe the olde stomache is just getting fussier, or maybe they have some new chemicals or ingredients I just don’t know, but anyway ... and despite my liking the taste ... i now belch it right up....alas! this does not happen with Burger King for some reason?)
He could have eaten 2,000 calories worth of fudge every day and still would have lost weight. If you reduce your caloric intake and increase your physical activity, you will lose weight.
I stopped reading right there.
As one who lost over 100 pounds with a walking regimen, I can tell you that walking works. However, it takes more discipline to find the time to walk 1-2 hours a day than to go on any particular diet.
When I was walking 20,000+ steps a day on my pedometer (about 10 miles), I could literally eat whatever I wanted. Ice cream, steaks, cheeseburgers, egg and bacon sandwiches, whatever. And the pounds just kept rolling off.
Now that's the kind of personal responsibility my wallet could get used to!
McDonald’s is actually fairly healthy food. I believe if you could give everybody in the Third World a Big Mac every day, it would drastically cut deaths from infectious disease.
he was on Cavuto and looks great.
He was teaching students real hands on science with easily available resources. he is a great teacher
Be interesting to know everything he stopped eating.
If one eschews the fries, sugared beverages, condiments (unless there’s dill pickles), and removes the extra bun layers, fast food burgers (the meat kind, not the bocas) will fall most of the way under Atkins. IOW, such an approach will work as long as carbs are cut and protein enhanced at all other meals as well. Thanks upbeat5.
would be interested in his vitals...bp, ldl, hdl, etc, before and after the diet.
That jackass from “Supersize Me” damned near killed himself eating there for a month....
Lose weight at McDonalds....it is possible, as the calorie count on everything is immediately available so you know what you’re getting.
he upped his exercise. no big surprises here at all. has nothing to do with the food, it’s calorie intake and calorie expenditure.
The best Atkins fast food is Subway. Twelve inch Italian cold cut sub with the maximum of everything. Dump it all out of the bread onto a plate and you have a hearty antipasto salad.

McD’s serves undigestable garbage now, unlike 40 years ago when what it used to serve was actual food. It makes me sick too now, when decades ago it was fine.
Very interesting Thanks for the info. Maybe the olde stomach is trying to tell me something ?
