NBC Blames Bush for Al Qaeda Takeover of Fallujah in 2014
FrontPage Mag ^ | 01/08/2014 | Daniel Greenfield

Apparently we’re on George W. Bush’s fourth term. And here I’ve been making a fool of myself criticizing some Illinois senator for messing up the country. If only NBC News had told me this piece of breaking news sooner.

Introducing a report on Monday’s NBC Nightly News about Al-Qaeda forces seizing control of the Iraqi city of Fallujah, anchor Brian Williams went out of his way to blame the President George W. Bush for the deteriorating security situation: “U.S. fighting forces are gone from Iraq. But as so many predicted when President Bush chose to go to war there after 9/11, the fighting has started up again.”

Wait.

They predicted in 2002 that the United States would withdraw and that over a decade later, Al Qaeda in Iraq would take over Fallujah? That is some impressive crystal ball work.

But let’s be fair here, Brian Williams is a worse anchorman than most of the cast of Anchorman. He’s a walking cartoon who probably couldn’t find the entire continent on a map without a teleprompter.

The odds are good that Brian Williams had just snorted so much cocaine before the show that he was under the impression that it was still 2006. For all we know he thinks it’s been 2006 for the last 8 years.

But it’s also a firm tenet of the left that George W. Bush is to blame for everything. Especially if it involves Iraq or racism or NBC’s falling ratings.

I blame Bush too — and the neocon cabal that pushed him to it — for stirring up that islamist hornet’s nest. What a miserable steaming pile of crap that presidency turned out to be.

Anyone could see that islamic fundamentalism and large-scale anti-Christian persecution were bound to be the result of that stupid, fraudulent, unnecessary war. And I’m no leftist.

I like reading Greenfield a lot but unless he's got video or some really good corroborating witnesses that's a personnal attack worthy of an MSNBC host. I expect better from the Sultan.

Bush blundered when he destabilized that area by removing Saddam Hussein. So ultimately Fallujah is Bush's fault.

That's a bit short in truth, sort of like suggesting it was our fault the Isamists hate us and we deserved 9/11.

That was a big decision to invade Iraq, but the decision of the democrats to start opposing and blaming Bush a year or so after the invasion was what killed any hope of seeing a non Islamist democratic state rise up in the Middle East. Their traitorous actions brought us to a stalemate when we might have actually won. It also forgets that the current administration has consistently encouraged and helped the very people we fought. It was Viet Nam all over again for the dems, the party of traitors.

This nonsense from NBC is simply typical of the idiocy our media has forged in the past decade.

“Bush blundered when he destabilized that area by removing Saddam Hussein. So ultimately Fallujah is Bush’s fault.

The conservative cause cannot prosper if we continue to try to defend Bush’s big mistake.”

Saddam Hussein kept Iraq “stable” by committing genocide and imprisoning, torturing and executing his enemies.

I guess that’s OK with you?

“U.S. fighting forces are gone from Iraq. But as so many predicted when President Bush Obama chose to go to war high tail out of there after 9/11 promising his liberal base full surrender, the fighting has started up again.”

Still time for a MOAB or two.

Let’s flatten Kabul while we’re at it.

Obama and all of his lackeys assured us Al Qaeda was decimated, not sure how the “blame Bush” can work for this one...

The world is a sad place. But if the US took it upon itself to remove every evil leader, we would soon be ruined. As John Quincy Adams said, America should not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy.

Does anyone even think NBC has one shred of credibility left?

Yes, it has plenty of credibility with the Obamasheep.

.... Someone needs to make a complete and exhaustive list of events that this administration has accused the Bush administration for and publish the results. It is my belief that the Obama Administration has broken both the Olympic and intergalactic record for the Administration Blaming competition.

I’m afraid that if we win in ‘16 without learning the lesson of history, we’ll get a return of the Bush band of incompetents who will permanently destroy the prospects of a conservative movement if not the whole nation.

You cannot win against Islam until Islam fears you. No one fears wimp Obama who transformed America into a shallow threat.

Remember how Iran released the hostages just as Reagan was taking the oath of office - that was respect of American strength and fear we would use our power.

Compare that to now....

What Hussein did to his own people wasn’t the primary issue, and although it sucked, it was not really our business, just like it’s currently not our business in Syria.

The primary reason we went into Iraq again was that Hussein was and would continue to be a destabilizing influence in the area. Unfinished business that should have been dealt with back in ‘91-92. However, considering Iran, there has always been a problem of what would happen when the newly created power vacuum arrived. We knew we would have to be in it for the long haul to make Iraq work, but after Hussein was deposed, we lost our way and now we get the result that the left always longed for.
