The Great Velveeta Shortage of 2014 (Velveetageddon)
Hotair ^

We live in a country where a momentary shortage, that has not yet even materialized, of a specific, beloved processed cheese product, is a national news story deemed worthy by citizens of being suffixed into a “-pocalypse”

What’s next, a shortage of food?

I thought fracking would put an end to this sort of thing.

A country that can’t even supply velveeta to its citizens !?”

Possible contrived shortage - wonder how bad their sales were. Good marketing ploy, particularly because the Super Bowl is coming up and chips and cheese dip are at the heart of the must have grazing dishes.

Velveeta and Rotel...

Try this! To the traditional Velveeta/Rotel nacho blend, add cooked ground hamburger and an equal amount of cooked ground sausage. It makes an INCREDIBLE dip.

I remember a trip where we ran out of everything in our packs in the boundary waters except squeeze cheese and rye crackers. Yum.

Or, the extra spicy version: velveeta, ground fried chorizo, and diced jalapenos.

Send this crappy fake cheese to North Korea. They are so starved they can top off the grass they cook and eat with this yellowish drek

During the Reagan years, there was a surplus of cheese—so much so that the government gave it away.

Say what you want, but we keep several 2 pound packages on hand.

It is vital to human survival: 6 billion trout can’t be wrong!

Polar vortex froze all the velveeta trees?

Your ignorants are showing, tet68. Everybody knows Velveeta is a tuber, although that doesn't mean it's not a victim of "anthropogenic global warming," of course.

When I wuz a kid, we were nearly out of our way in Algonquin Park and some camp peeps started up their kitchen to feed us some fried burgers. They tasted great after eating Chuck Wagon dehydrated foods for a week.

Does Velveetageddon go along with a Spampocalypse?

There are creditable generic versions of Velveeta that can be had at many a grocery. I think this fear is cheesy to the max.

Add fried loose sausage for extra heart stopping goodness!

I doubt Kraft will be using the slogan "Try Velveeta plus sausage...It's heart stoppingly good", anytime soon! Lol.
