John McCain Censured by Arizona Republicans in Landslide Vote

censured

McCain subject of unprecedented embarrassment

The Maricopa County Republican Committee, the state’s largest Republican group, censured Senator John McCain for “long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats.”

This official censuring of McCain happened during the annual mandatory meeting of the Maricopa County Republican Committee. Nearly 1,500 precinct committeemen (PCs) were in attendance.  The vote to censure McCain passed overwhelmingly — 1,150 in support with only 351 opposed.

After McCain held several closed door town halls on amnesty last year, state Republicans expressed their outrage with his stance on rewarding illegal aliens with citizenship.

McCain betrayed the state by proclaiming his intent to "Complete the Dang Fence" when running in his 2010 primary, then turning around and pushing through last year's "Gang of 8" Senate amnesty bill that would gut border security and hand tens of millions of illegals instant legalization.

McCain also opposed attempts to defund ObamaCare, pushed to arm Al Queda-backed "rebels" in Syria, and shamed his state when he was photographed with a Syrian terrorist who had kidnapped and tortured 11 civilians.

McCain is unfit for political office.

I have always said that something is just not right with this man.

To put it bluntly, he gives me the creeps.

Not if Busy Boehner has anything to say about it. He still wants to reach out and tough somebody’s hand.

As a Zonie, I’ll say this. MANY of the local govts are total old boys clubs. That’s one issue. Another is the influx of moderates fleeing Cali. Then there’s illegals either voting or having the sympathy of their neighbors who don’t want their good friends and drinking buddy’s deported. And trust me, there are a LOT of people like that here.

Lastly all you need to do is search the old threads to see how JD was savaged. By Conservatives. Sure he had his issues. His TV commercials did him few favors. But the mentality displayed on those threads contributed to Johnny’s last win.

Unfortunately you will likely see it all repeated if McCain does in fact run again.

I too remember J.D. being savaged here on FR. The Dems have electing their boy Johnny down to a science, and they darn near got that drek Carmona elected because Jeff Flake is a worthless Rino bum.

He won’t be embarrassed, but he will be become livid. When does McCain’s Senate term end again?

McCain does not care. Arizona would reelect him again tomorrow no matter what he does.

Would this be considered a first step towards impeachment or recall?

A U.S. Senator (or Congressman) can neither be impeached nor recalled.

The Constitution makes no provision for removal of an elected federal official save death, resignation or electoral defeat. He can be expelled, though, by the body to which he was elected.

Exactly what does censuring in the state mean?

Hopefully he has hit the end of the road of his political career. Let’s hope so at any rate.

McCain must have an empty and lonely life to prefer the company of Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin and beltway reprobates over a comfortable retirement enjoying his family and his wife’s fortune.

Yeah and I thought I wouldn’t live long enough to witness some sense from AZ voters regarding the ‘$50 lettuce man’.
