Israeli Defense Minister to Kerry: 'Leave Us in Peace' (Slams Kerry)

JERUSALEM, Israel -- While U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry presses ahead with trying to create a Palestinian state by this spring, a senior Israeli government minister says Kerry doesn't know what he's talking about.

"The only thing that can 'save us' is for John Kerry to win a Nobel [Peace] Prize and leave us in peace," Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said.

Ya'alon made headlines Tuesday over remarks he reportedly made in private conversations both abroad and at home, according to the Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot.

"Secretary of State John Kerry, who came here very determined and operates based on an unfathomable obsession and messianic feeling, cannot teach me anything about the Palestinians…I live and breathe the conflict with the Palestinians. I know what they think, what they want and what they really mean," said Ya'alon, himself a former Israel Defense Forces chief of staff.

In private conversations, Ya'alon reportedly called the security plan presented by U.S. Gen. (ret.) John Allen untenable for the Jewish state.

"The American security plan presented to us is not worth the paper it's written on," he said. "It contains no peace and no security. Only our continued presence in Judea and Samaria [the West Bank] and the Jordan River will guarantee that Ben Gurion Airport [Israel's main international airport] and [the northern coastal city] Netanya do not become targets for missiles from every direction."

Ya'alon criticized the notion that technology could replace soldiers in the field.

"You presented us with a plan based on smart technologies, satellites, sensors, war rooms with television screens, without our forces being present on the ground," Ya'alon continued.

"And I ask you, how will your technology help us when a Salafist terror cell or one from Islamic Jihad tries to carry out a terror attack against Israeli targets? Who will take care of them? What satellites will take care of the rocket industry developing in Shechem [Nablus], and the rockets that will be launched at Tel Aviv and the central region?"

Ya'alon called negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority illusory.

"There are no negotiations with the Palestinians. The Americans are holding negotiations with us and in parallel with the Palestinians," he explained. "So far, we are the only side to have given anything -- the release of murderers -- and the Palestinians have given nothing."

On releasing more convicted terrorists, Ya'alon said "enough is enough."

"We have given enough and received nothing," he said. "Let us say to our American friends, 'enough is enough.'"

I know what they think, what they want and what they really mean,” said Ya’alon.

Lurch, on the other hand, is a clueless dullard that knows more about ketchup than he does about Palestine.

That really struck me, too. That Israeli knows Palestinians, and the entire gives the impression, that they know they’re wasting their time with “negotiations” with Palestinians. They only do it so American politicians can have sound bites.

Amazing how stupid Kerry is.

"Under questioning from the Committee, Kerry referred to the democratically elected government of South Vietnam -- our allies -- as a "dictatorial regime, the Thieu-Ky-Khiem regime," while respectfully calling the North Vietnamese communist regime we were fighting by its oxymoronic official name, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and the murderous Viet Cong's political arm by their preferred "Provisional Revolutionary Government.":

"After being transferred out of combat duty, Kerry was restationed in New York in early 1969. By late 1969 his older sister Peggy was already involved in the antiwar movement, working for the Vietnam Moratorium Committee (VMC). That October, she recruited John as a pilot to fly Adam Walinsky, a key leader of the New York office of the VMC, to VMC-organized antiwar demonstrations. Kerry, who was still on active duty in the US Naval Reserve, later boasted that he had been “smart enough not to put down ‘Moratorium’ on the Navy signout sheet for that Tuesday and Wednesday”."

You all are right on the money about Kerry being a commie.

But, Ya’alon was talking about Kerry’s knowledge of the Palestinians.

“The only thing that can ‘save us’ is for John Kerry to win a Nobel [Peace] Prize and leave us in peace,”

While I like that foreign dignitaries are putting Kerry in place, this bothers me. Not that Ya’alon would say it, but how unprecedented the level of incompetence is. When someone as high up as Defense minister from an ally nation would be so fed up, and bold to insult the Secretary of State, demonstrates where our standing is in the world.

I think I always knew Kerry was a laughing stock, but this confirms it. Imagine what the manly enemies in Iran and Afghanistan are thinking about him.

The Obama administration came into office with the intent to make America switch sides in the war on terror.

Looks like Bibi has washed his hands of being accommodating to the Regime.

The only question is when Israel will strike Iran.

The Mideast peace process always seems to be the last refuge a failed American administration tries to hide behind, and Obama is a preeminent example.

Obama has basically destabilized all four corners of the globe, from Egypt and Iraq to Africa and Russia. He has alienated our allies, such as Germany and Great Britain and others. No one trusts him. Everybody sees him as weak, vacillating, and hollow - someone more interested in basketball brackets than in substantive issues beyond hard partisanship.

Therefore, Obama is looking for something - anything - by which to hold up as a success.

Our foreign relations are a disaster, as noted above.

Obamacare is a disaster.

Our economy is a disaster.

The Obama administration is corrupt and lawless.

Obama needs something to try and claim success so they are looking to beat the snot out of Israel to force Israel to concede even more all for the selfish provision of trying to make Obama look good. Israel would be utterly foolish to assist in this Obama rehabilitation charade.
