GOP mulls 32 candidates for president in 2016--so far
Washington Examiner ^ | January 15, 2014 | Paul Bedard

If you thought the 13-candidate clogged 2012 Republican presidential primaries were too crowded and confusing, then you might want to skip the 2016 process -- because the Republican Party is suggesting that 32 might be interested in running.

The Republican National Committee is operating a 2016 Presidential straw poll that lists all 32, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. It's all part of a fundraiser.

I spent a few minutes with NEWT in ‘12 in New Hampshire ... I told him I was ready to head from NH to ME the next day to start the fight in Maine ... his ears perked ... and he said talk to so-and-so .... his young staffer whom I already knew.

When I told the staffer that NEWT sent me over .. he paid quik attention until I mentioned Maine. The staffer could not care less about Maine cuz he was a career guy and since Maine was not his state, did not give one hoot. Same with the other staffers in NH ... no real concern about much outside their own day’s agenda.

newt does not hire well.

Ran into the same thing with Santorum. Amateur hour.

Many of us here could write the mainstream articles on the 2016 GOP candidate right now, without knowing any names, just as we can do it for the democrat nominee, we don’t need the names.

I’d like to see a surprise candidate with a strong military background pop up.
Proven executive skills
Strong leadership abilities
Career of service to the nation
Constitutionalist
Unapologetically American

Enough senators, congressmen, community agitators/law school lecturers

I want a President that will be a leader in the rule of law. But, more important, will be Vice President, someone who can take the bureaucracy by the balls and squeeze the Bolshie out them, Allen West.

I would like to see Allen West as President or VP....

The Media is going to chew up and spit out any conservative....and they had better not have anything in their background. I still remember Hermain Cain...how the Media called him an Uncle Tom, when that didn’t work, then they brought out the females to smear him.

Then you have the debates, the media sharing what questions will be asked like with Obama and Candy and the Rose Garden document she just happen to have...when Obama asked her for it..

We can’t win unless we have a candidate willing to fight dirty like the Dems do...no more “my friends” statements...no more coming out of the bull pen seeing red only to finish as a yellow belly coward like Romney.

You just identified Allen West! I don’t think he could be Prez, but I do believe he would be a great SecDef for a Conservative Prez.

He knows well the US military and how this Obama administration has “disarmed” them with their PC crap, women in combat roles, gays OK, idiot Rules of Engagement and continuous lies. ...He could do a lot to restore our US military services that have been devasted under Democrat control, if given a Conservative Congress.

Is Hillary jumping the fence?

No, she's a different fat commie than the one I was talking about (Krispy). Just think, if they both get nominated, we'll have an all fat commie ballot in 16. Maybe "None of the Above" will win.

I'd like to see this again, but on a national stage.

Most will get 2 or 3% of the vote, but Chris Christie will get a whopping 4% of the vote — he will be unstoppable!!!! He’s inevitable. It’s his turn. Etc, etc, etc.

Even though I'd rather have Cruz, Palin, Gowdy, or any one of numerous others, mark my words:

Our candidate will be either Christie or Jeb. We don't want them, but just as you say, they will be foist upon us because it's their turn or they are "electable".....UGH!
