KANSAS MIDDLE SCHOOL: POSTER LISTING SEX ACTS PART OF 'HEALTH AND SCIENCE' CURRICULUM

The father of a 13 year-old girl who was upset by a classroom poster that listed sex acts was shocked to hear that the poster is part of her school’s health and science curriculum.

Breitbart: As local Fox News affiliate in Kansas, fox4kc.com, reported Tuesday, Mark Ellis said his daughter, a student at Hocker Grove Middle school in the Shawnee Mission School District, was “shocked” by what she saw on a poster on a classroom wall in school. Ellis said his daughter took a picture of the poster and showed her parents.

Originally, Ellis assumed the poster to be a student prank, until he called the school and discovered it was part of the curriculum.

Parents outraged over classroom poster that lists sex acts... “Why would you put it in front of 13 year-old students?” he asked.

The poster, entitled, “How Do People Express Their Sexual Feelings?” lists sex acts such as: Oral Sex, Sexual Fantasy, Caressing, Anal Sex, Dancing, Hugging, Touching Each Other’s Genitals, Kissing, Grinding, and Masturbation.

Ellis said after being told by the school principal the poster was “teaching material,” he is now concerned about what his daughter is being taught in school.

“It upsets me,” he said. “And again, it goes back to who approved this? You know this had to pass through enough hands that someone should have said, ‘Wait a minute, these are 13-year-old kids, we do not need to be this in-depth with this sexual education type of program.’”

According to Fox News, however, district spokeswoman Leigh Anne Neal said the poster must be viewed in the context of a bigger curriculum, which she identified as abstinence-based for students in middle school.

“The poster that you reference is actually part of our middle school health and science materials, and so it is a part of our district approved curriculum,” Neal said. “However the item is meant to be part of a lesson, and so certainly as a standalone poster without the context of a teacher led discussion, I could see that there might be some cause for concern.”

Neal added that the curriculum is similar to those used by other schools around the country.

“The curriculum it is a part of, it aligns with national standards around those topics, and it’s part of our curriculum in the school district,” she said.

In fact, the curriculum, titled “Making A Difference,” is published by selectmedia.org and recommended by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) as a “pregnancy prevention intervention.”

According to the publisher's website, the goal of the program is:

...to empower young adolescents to change their behavior in ways that will reduce their risk of pregnancy and HIV or other STD infection. Specifically, this curriculum emphasizes that young adolescents should postpone sexual activity and that practicing abstinence is the only way to eliminate the risk for pregnancy and STDs, including HIV.

Module 2 of the program, which is called “Understanding Adolescent Sexuality and Abstinence,” offers “an overview of reproductive anatomy, discusses messages about sex, discusses how people express themselves sexually [apparently reinforced by the poster], and the benefits of abstinence.”

According to HHS, in the original study that explored the effectiveness of the Making A Difference program, the participants were African-Americans, aged 11-13.

Nevertheless, Ellis thinks the curriculum should change.

“This has nothing to do with abstinence or sexual reproduction, actually, a lot of these things,” he said. “I would like to see that this particular portion of the curriculum is removed from the school.”

As Fox News reported, Ellis said if the curriculum doesn’t change, he will remove his daughter from sexual education classes.

this not teaching, it is conditioning. Year by year, as these courses get more and more graphic and detailed, the student is conditioned to accept being promiscuous, being a slut, is OK. In effect it promotes such behavior.

“How Do People Express Their Sexual Feelings?”

Well, the way the Shawnee Mission School District administrative brothel expresses it was to sexually abuse students with posters legitimizing perversions and then having their spokespimp, Leigh Anne Neal, announce that "it aligns with national standards around those topics, and it’s part of our curriculum in the school district."

There are national standards for middle school students expressing their feelings through anal sex?!?

I’ve been happy with her school so far. She’s come home singing patriotic songs, and evil religious Christmas songs. It was hilarious when she brought home the Kwanzaa Menorah coloring page. I don’t have a problem with her learning about alternative celebrations as long as she gets to draw pics of the real nativity too.

“being a slut, is OK”

Whether I like it or not, that message is everywhere. Its not even safe having the news on, if we’re going to discuss cigars and semen and homo everything. Someday soon I’ll have to explain to her why she will hate herself if she gives it up to a random kid she won’t remember. Her father will have to make her believe she is better than that, the way mine did.

Seems like the more explicit our kids sex education class gets, the more teachers of all stripes are crossing the line and engaging sex acts with students.

I’m sure its just a coincidence though...

“Okay, kids! Listen up! I’m going to tell you ways you can express your sexual feelings. I’m also going to tell you not to do any of it.”

When I was a kid we were taught sex education by older boys who had learned it from older boys who had learned it from older boys and so on. And if we had any questions we could usually find the answer written on the bathroom walls. Some even had crude drawings.

I was raised to believe that an expression of caring was holding hands, love songs and poetry, perhaps a kiss goodnight after a decent length of time..

My wife was a virgin when I married at 23, she 21.. We went to dances, and the show, and took long walks.. We talked about life, in general, and life together, and promised fidelity, and loyalty..

I wrote letters and poetry, and sang to her.. We cooked and ate together after work, at her home with her parents nearby.. I asked her parents for her hand in marriage, and we set up a home before, we were wed, and moved into it upon return from a honeymoon..

It doesn’t happen that way anymore, much to their loss.. It was the happiest days in my life.. Most importantly, I went to sleep every night with a clear conscience, and happy memories of the time with my princess.. She looked up to me and I knew it, and believed I earned her admiration, and love..

Why do you think they would?

Is that what you tell yourself to help you sleep at night?

You're a damned idiot. Thank god my children didn't go to school anywhere near your porn-addled miscreants.

Lol, PTA meeting...

I have to occasionally remind myself there are still some self-identified "conservatives" who send their kids to public school.

There is no such thing as “abstinence based” sex-ed in public school today, they are really pushing kids into sex.
