v. Jerry Brown said Monday his administration would soon declare an official drought designation for California to help maximize water resources across the state. Meanwhile, local Bay Area communities are already experiencing the effects.
In many ways its a mega-drought; its been going on for number of years and then we also have the prospect of global climate change and that can affect us as well, Brown said.

True, droughts do run in cycles and when you mess with the cycles, things change and not necessarily for the better.
The real drought has been in the foresight of state leaders to appropriate funds to build dams and reseroirs, something that has failed to happen here for years and years.
The drought is Deja Vu , remember the Brown years..

Sunshine is generally inversely proportionate to precipitation.
It is a good thing the resevoirs in the Sierra Nevadas are drained uselessly in the the rivers to protect minnows and mudsuckers. Those greedy farmers have been using all that water for far too long. Of course the important people on the coast ans LA will not have to worry about their water. They live right next to the ocean...right?

they have yet to investigate DESALINIZATION however....dont want to interfere with Mother Gaia’s Ocean..I suspect

And back in the 1970’s, when according to Time magazine we were entering an ice age, California also had a drought.
Too bad cultural memory is so short.
