Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush defended immigrants and weaved together ideas about immigration, education and the plight of youths in a speech Thursday night at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts.

Bush said a population pyramid with more young people at its base is important because the youth support the elderly.
He explained that in China the pyramid is becoming inverted because they are trying to control population and as a result the elderly are going to outnumber the young.
He said immigrants in the United States are usually young and if they were allowed to stay legally they would fill the bottom of our pyramid.

Bush is stating that one needs a population ponzi scheme to support the elderly. In order to keep "more young people at its base" the US needs higher and higher levels of immigration over time. As the current youth get older then we need to import even more immigrants to "support" that cohort as they get older. His policies mean the US will surpass Chins and India with a billion plus in a few generations. NUTS!

Meanwhile, back in TX, Geo. P. Bush is running for Land Commissioner. He's recently lectured some elements in the TX GOP for making 'ignorant' comments about Hispanics. The local news reported he has $2.5 million in his campaign treasury (for Land Commissioner!?). His main opponent has $7,000.
