Proving Mental Stability. Gun Control and Obamacare

A couple of weeks back, when news appeared of Mr. Obama’s executive order to “expand” so called background checks to confirm the mental health of firearm purchasers, it seemed on the surface to be somewhat innocuous. Making it more difficult for a “mentally unstable” person to obtain a firearm does, on the surface, sound reasonable, does it not? It does until one considers two critically important factors.

First of all the mention that "...on the surface, sound reasonable, does it not?" is totally incorrect. The rest of the piece proves that out. Like I said, if you have a cold and the doc asks you if you're depressed or have any guns in the house, sneeze in his face and say depre what gu what? Sorry doc I'm here cause I have a cold nothing else. Or something. Gun owners. Guilty till proven.......... Oh, wait. They are always guilty of something. In the libs eyes, just the mere thought that one may desire to own/possess a firearm is a sign of instability. Most libs have a phobia against inanimate objects making them unstable as well.

Coupled with Andy Cuomo’s statement that ‘Extreme conservatives … have no place in the state of New York,’ you can see where they are headed.

(Disclaimber: before anybody slams me, I know some are bound by family and employment and that there are still a lot of NY folks that are conservative but outnumbered. My dad’s family were early settlers[1700’s] in the Hudson Valley so I know not all New Yorkers are from nyc)

Exactly. One of the things my parents did when we were growing up was to read books at the dinner table. We all had our turn to pick the book.

My sister selected one by a young lady who had escaped Red China through Hong Kong. One passage tells of a lady in her town who woke up in a coffin, found out that she had been declared dead by the local bureaucracy, climbed out and proceeded about town to get the authorities to overturn said declaration.

Simple, you say? She was obviously alive and was walking about. But her case was passed from bureaucrat to bureaucrat for several days until finally the lady, in sheer frustration, crawled back in the coffin to be cremated alive.

So with the new Colorado druggy law you go to buy a gun after legally smoking stupid weed and you are asked if you use drugs. You answer yes and no guy for you you drug addict by federal law.
