And the men who lack such intimacy are much poorer for it.
______________
I absolutely agree. Many men only rely on women for friendship. Women make men poor friends out side of the bonds of marriage. And they are not enough inside the bonds of marriage IMHO.
I notice that my son’s male friends are always teasing each other about the other’s purported homosexuality.
For sure!
That is probably not the best way to frame the issue.
I used to belong to a health club in Atlanta that had a great steam bath. The men that used it at the time of day I worked out were for the most part old cigar chomping businessmen.
They were probably retired and from a much older generation. They would sit in the steam bath and talk business (mostly stock market) and then run out for an ice cold shower and then back in for more steam. This was their idea of exercise (except for golf on the weekends).
They were as innocent as a bunch of 3 year olds. It was a joy being around a bunch of old goats my grandfather's age sitting in a steam bath with only a towel and talking about manly things (the stock market and cigars).
sounds gross to me
lol
Is it that easy to destroy a “deep” friendship? Not very deep, it seems to me.
Georgy had shown me photos of his three-year-old son dressed up, just like dad, head to toe in combat gear and pointing a toy gun. With growing trepidation, I ask the obvious question - what if your son was gay?
Obvious question? In the author's perverted psychosphere, perhaps. If I was that father, I would have hit him instantly and instinctively.
Anyone . . . have? Talk about a loose screw.
Depends on the chick.
If being gay is thought to be a matter of choice, why are most straight men resistant to sleeping together in the same bed?
Were it not for the perversion injected into our society, we would all just be hippopotami swimming in the river with our cousins and aunts and uncles...all butt nekid.;-)
Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Personal boundary issues. Even healthy males (myself included) have a boundary around them which they will not permit being crossed (except by aunts...who seem to get away with it even when such is disliked).
If one is afraid to publically demonstrate a close friendship then the lack of demonstration precludes the formation of them. In other words, the demonstration forges the deep bond.
You are aware that most early cheap hotels in the US, particularly in frontier areas, had 2 or even 3 men sleeping in the same bed, no?
It’s more comfortable to sleep alone; if the only place you can sleep is in a bed with another person or persons of the same sex - or even of the opposite sex, in some places - that’s what you do. You’re sleeping with them, literally.
But if you don’t have to do it, you won’t. And now that the whole thing has been sexualized, nobody’s going to want to share a bed unless they’re unconscious and have been dragged in there from a blizzard.
Which is why the article is provocative. After comments here on FR, I am beginning to wonder if the author didn't make this story up.
That said, the perversion of sexuality by gays has caused us to forget the natural remedies.
Nah, its wrong period.
I suspect it's due to a harder lifestyle that's more geared toward survival than anything else.
As a side note, I have my eye on a PCP air rifle that just happens to be manufactured by a singular guy in Russia. It's called an "Edgun".........
You didn’t feel that way when you were 1, 2, and 3 years old.
Thanks for your insights on the writer. I wanted to post that he was an idiot.
