A couple of days ago a Freeeper posted that a cop in a different state did a license plate scan and it told the cop he had a carry permit. So, the cop stopped him and demanded to see the gun. When he said he didn’t have it they were delayed for 90 minutes for the car to be searched. I wasn’t aware states shared that info or that it would be available to an auto-scan. I’m beginning to think that licensed carry isn’t a good idea. Maybe we need laws tat just allow carry regardless. I mean the bad guys are already carrying concealed. Thoughts?
It seems that everything 5hitty about this country starts in Ill. Then spreads like a cancer. Like a doctor would do maybe just cut it out. Maybe it is time.
Lie if you need to, to get in.
This expression of bad manners and hostility in a theater in Florida did not help the case for concealed carry.
There was a sign up at the entrance of the theater, “Please turn off cell phones and pagers before entering theater”, but apparently, the deceased did not think this applied to him. When the retired police officer stood up and spoke sharply, telling him to end the conversation and turn off the phone, the rather boorish phone user threw a bucket of popcorn at the person who confronted him. Things must have spun a little out of control then.
Why was Trayvon Martin lying on the ground dead, again?
That was not a “stand your ground” situation, either.
OK fine, My state has Open carry anyway.
We won.
It’s the law of the land.
Look at the bright side, the dead man died doing what he loved best, pissing off others.
She’ll be surrounded by armed guards no doubt.
“A couple of days ago a Freeeper posted that a cop in a different state did a license plate scan and it told the cop he had a carry permit.”
The guy needs to sue Maryland in Federal Court for violating the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986. That act provides for “safe passage” of non-residents passing through any other state irrespective of that state’s gun laws. I just don’t know how New York City gets away with arresting people passing through any of their airports given this law.
The shooter in Florida was an retired LEO and would probay still be carrying in most states regardless of how strict their unconstitution gun laws might be. As the tip of the spear of the government he is one of our betters.
“The guy needs to sue Maryland in Federal Court for violating the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986.”
What would he sue for? You have to prove damages. How do you assign a monetary figure? At $5,000 down and $500/hour to operate the legal system it’s not worth getting a judgment for $1 and a court saying (maybe) that he’s right. He might actually end up paying the other side’s legal fees too, if he loses.
“What would he sue for? “
Violation of his civil rights. It is not about money, it’s about forcing law enforcement to behave in a legal manner. I’ve just read where outside NYC the LEOs have been instructed to leave transiting non-citizens with properly stored weapons alone. The chilling thing here is that Florida has made their CCW permitees information available outside the state.
Lie if you have to, to get in is about right, if that’s an option.
Normally they have a list, or group of looses to bring in to fill the seats early then allow no more attendance for “your safety”

This press release lacks one important thing:
Talking points:
1. Concealed carry has been permitted in most states, and crime went down not up.
2. Repeat #1.

I found out about this from ThisWeekInGuns on the Firearms Radio Network. Jake Challand lives in Illinois.
Ill, CA, NY seem to be the font of much of our Nation's woes - from those (and a few other) locations, it seeps like a cancerous puss to the rest of the Nation.
“The chilling thing here is that Florida has made their CCW permitees information available outside the state.”
Florida HAS to change this.....keep this information within the state, or better yet, abolish the need for a permit altogether.
