if this is global warming, i would love to experience “Global Cooling”, would that be when the average temp in the USA is 50 below?

Well, if winter storms are proof of global warming, then obviously if there were global cooling, we should expect heat waves in excess of 100 degrees.

Yes and we worked shoveling snow to make money and collected and turned in glass soda bottles for deposit money so we could buy Revell and Aurora plastic model plane and boat kits and the more guns they had the better.

Cuomo advised no travel. Does that include conservatives trying to get out, on his advice LAST week?

Even though that’s just a 45-min loop, you can see that thing ain’t going nowhere in a hurry.

New York, as you say, does not get single digits on a regular basis, and not combined with snow.

solar activity is at a low.

Where is the guy that gives us all the details about how the sun impacts our weather?

That guy speaks the truth.

When I was a kid, weather was the weather and a snowstorm was just a snowstorm. Ken and Barbie have turned the weather reports into mini disaster movies. If they aren’t going to work, people should at least get a hobby.

“Why do they always scream and holler they are “not prepared”? You would think by now they would be. Oh, I forgot, all the money for prepared is being stolen.”

It’s not being stolen, it is merely being put to better use by purchasing Big Screen TV’s and new SUV’s for crack whores squirting out babies.

I really wish some conservatives would grow a pair and start laughing on tv when they speak of global warming. Just laugh and tell them no credible scientist buys it. I worked at nasa at langley for a while, then it was the ozone hole on the south pole, well I have spectrostrphy data of the hole then and years later the hole closed on its own..definitely not because we eliminated certain propellants inspray bottles..

Its time to tell the experts they have no clue.

I'm in New York tonight on business and the snow we are getting tonight is pretty typical of a snow event up in my neck of the woods (border of NH/MA). I had no problem getting around tonight and went to a TGI Friday's for dinner (wasn't my idea, I would have gone to a proper tavern).

Anyway, like you say, you got Ken and Barbie on the TV with wall-to-wall coverage of this "epic disaster". We sat at the bar and all the TVs, which are normally tuned into sports, was showing the different news channels with footage of heavy traffic, snow plows doing their thing, and "field reporters" doing live shots of some Manhattan street while holding on to their hats (to make it seem like a "snow hurricane" was in progress). Such drama queens.

All pretty ridiculous stuff.

It's 15 degrees in NYC right now and to me it seems rather seasonable as I often go to ten below in my backyard. The snow is actually easy to deal with because its so light, powdery and fluffy. You can almost blow it off the car.

By 9am in the morning, everything will be back to normal around here. It's no big deal. Don't believe the hype that the national media is feeding you!
