Texas is not Minnesota, a state with a long leftist tradition dating back to the Farmer-Labor movement in the early 1900s. The reason Texas used to elect Democrat governors is its Southern heritage. Not until the 1960s did the GOP start electing a few congressmen, like George Bush the elder and John Tower. Not until the Great Depression and World War II generation of yellow dog Democrats among rural and blue collar Anglo-Southern whites did party affiliation generally switch to the Republicans. Even Rick Perry, a Baby Boomer, started his political career in the 1980s as a Democrat.
A principal difference between Texas and Southeastern states such as North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida is that most of the Northern migration comes from the Midwest rather than the Northeast. Counties like Collin and Denton near Dallas, Williamson near Austin, and Fort Bend and Montgomery near Houston have high percentages of non-Texans, yet are among the more conservative counties in the state.
The long term threat to continued Republican rule is the increasing Hispanic population of the state. A secondary threat is the increasing numbers of well-off whites, largely liberal, both native Texan or otherwise, in the gentrified areas of Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Fort Worth. Wendy Davis may be popular among the latter group, but will be a dud with the former group. Blacks are also not fond of limousine liberals, and male voters of any race are inclined to dislike her personally.
Wendy Davis is an electoral disaster for the Democrats waiting to happen.

Has she ever run a business, managed a trailer-park, or sold insurance? Not sure, but she DID stay in a trailer park, for a few months, after one of her divorces. Does that count? /s
I'd love to see a debate between AbortionBatty and AG Gregg Abbott. That would, likely, seal AG Abbott's run for Gov.

Batty Davis' life "story" seems to be as fake as her hair color and plastic surgery. The hits keep coming, with her.

Have you ever thought that your ‘tagline’; “Santorum-Bachmann 2016 for the future of the country!” is enough to ensure that not a word you write will be considered as logical or with merit?!?
Among the liberals on Free Republic you are probably right. So many here have zero principles that your post does not surprise me in the least.

Sure Davis stretched the truth, but look at Sen. Elizabeth Warren with her false Native American heritage which she likely used to fraudulently get minority preference. The media pretty much ignored Warren so Davis is home free.

I still cannot believe that Richards, wide eyed liberal drunk that she was, actually was governor there. If Clayton Williams had kept his mouth shut about "laying back and enjoying rape", she would have never been elected. He was way ahead of her in the polls before that stupid comment.

No. However, I will not change my tagline. American needs to wake up or we will be stuck with another “Obama”.

Any female or minority Democrat has a total free pass from MSM inquiry or reportage thereof.
A few white male Dems may get the occasional sharp elbow.
Every conservative gets a massive artillery barrage.
