black-on-black = nonexistent. And for goodness sake, don't use the word "thug".

Anyone who would punch a 79 year old just for the heck of it, deserves to be shot down like a dirty dog.
That also includes any Black who does it to a White person. We have a totally corrupt AG and probably the entire justice dept. They simply prosecute for no other reason than the race of the perpetrator.
Even under the most virulent system of Jim Crow would Whites have been allowed to just injure or kill a Black who was not engaged in some controversial behavior.

I absolutely disagree with “hate crime” laws, because #1 they’re applied unequally, #2 motivation is difficult to determine, and #3 an assault is an assault no matter what motivated it. Motivation could be considered in the sentencing phase. Regardless, if the 79-year-old man was attacked in a Knockout game, the person who did it deserves to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

And WHY the hell is HE being targeted for a HATE crime when no BLACKS have been and the OVERWHELMING number of Knock-Out Attacks (but certainly not all) have been by black perps against non-black victims???
I’ll tell you why - the Chicago Based “Nation of Islam” is running the Obama Administration and Holder works for them.

The prosecution claims that Mr. Barrett not only videotaped the alleged attack, but also allegedly said on the tape that he was going to attack a black man.

I grew up in Katy and when my wife and I married we bought a house there in 92 (near Fry and Clay). By 2002 we had had enough (rural became to suburb-y) and were looking to move to Waller or Fulshear but had to move to Florida (family).
Darn shame. Katy was a great place to live.

Meanwhile the knockout game continues across this nation with no federal investigation.

If I were him, I would sue the Federal government for violate his civil rights and racism, they have singled him out for a hate crime while all others committing the same crime are not charged equally because of their color/race.

Of course if the races were reversed here there's be no “hate crime” charge, state *or* Federal.I absolutely reject the legitimacy of *all* hate crime laws.In *this* case, depending on the evidence proven, this guy needs to be punished...particularly given the age of the victim. If his injuries are anywhere *near* serious the young guy might deserve a couple of years in *state* prison. That could even be an appropriate sentence if the injuries *weren't* serious but the young guy has any kind of history of lawlessness, particularly of the violent kind.

Not a bad idea.
He and others who have been charged with crimes should sue local, state and federal government on the basis that they can point to others who have committed the same crime and were not prosecuted.

We need to send in the cop, who canceled the movie-texting patron, to clean this up pronto.
