SUMTER, SC (WIS)- Police in Sumter are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a jewelry store that ended with the suspect shooting himself in the head.
Sumter Police say officers were called to Galloway and Moseley Fine Jewelers on North Guigard Drive for an attempted armed robbery Thursday morning. Police say just before 8 a.m., the man tried to rob two employees as they opened the store.
Chief Russell Roark says one of the store employees holds a concealed weapons permit and was armed. Roark says the employee drew his gun in self-defense and pointed it toward the suspect. Roark says the suspect turned his own weapon to his head and shot himself.
The suspect died at the scene. His name will not be released until his family is notified.
Sumter Police are continuing to investigate.
So who is the MSM going to refer to as the victim?
= = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Seeing how this disadvantaged yute was forced to take up arm(s) to get money to feed his family he naturally is the victim here.
The ‘man’ would have persecuted him had he went to jail.
Besides money to feed his family he was trying to get enough for bus fare as he was to take his GED at 1PM - hence the robbery at opening time.
His family said he was being ‘crucified’ and that despite his rape and drug charges and sealed juvie record, he was a good boy that once gave the last piece of chicken to his baby momma.
That he had 4 children with 4 different girls by the time he was 19 just shows he was popular.
(need pic of ‘crying boy’)
Of course some lawyer will contact them about suing the store for not ‘giving it up’ in a timely fashion, or even sue the Gun Manufacture for having a defective product just because the gun went off - forget the fact his finger was on the trigger....
Oh yes, must make sure his kiddies and baby mommas get their share of SS payments AND his disability payments as he died on the job.
BTW the ‘latest’ ads for SSD BENEFITS run by lawyers.
Funny how it is BENEFITS for the druggies, drunks, junkies, slackers while those that put into it for 40/50+ years are considered receiving ENTITLEMENTS.
TALK ABOUT BIZZARRO WORLD...
i wish all violent armed criminals followed this one’s example.
Ammo isn’t getting cheaper either.
Works for me.
“Nice shootin’, Tex.”

Shortly before 7:50 a.m. Thursday, police say as two employees of Galloway and Moseley Fine Jewelers were walking up to the front door of the business preparing to open the store, they were approached by a man wearing a ski mask. The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Sumter resident Joshua Duncan, pointed a gun at the men, saying he was robbing the store.
One of the employees, who police say has a concealed weapons permit, then brandished his own weapon and pointed it at the suspect.
He did that to defend himself, said Sumter Police public information officer Tonyia McGirt.
After a brief standoff between the two armed men, police say the suspect then turned his weapon to his head and fired, killing himself on the front steps of the business. He never made it into the store, McGirt said.
Sumter County Coroner both identified Duncan and confirmed he died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Just before Roark shot himself in the head, it's reported he said, "What are you laughing at? I'm gonna shoot you next."

I’m reminded of the 2 overly polite cartoon crows:
“Oh no, sir, allow me,”
“Oh please no, I’ll save you the trouble.”
Whatta polite perp.
Heckle and Jeckle?
Could be. Long time ago, seems like.
Long time ago for sure.
Now -that- right there is funny.
“... gee, you are a good sport.”
LOL!

Yep, Carlin, “Classic Gold” or “FM & AM”, cut 5 “Birth Control”
All’s well that ends well. ;-)
Hope you are doing well! Last year?
Not by a long shot. Ah well, any day you’re above ground is a good day.
