Clay Aiken Preparing Congressional Bid in North Carolina [Homosexual American Idol Runner-up]

“American Idol” runner-up Clay Aiken is preparing to run for Congress as a Democrat in North Carolina’s 2nd District, multiple Democratic sources confirmed to CQ Roll Call.

But his candidacy is being met with skepticism by some Tar Heel State Democrats, who are holding out hope of making it a race in this Republican-leaning district.

Aiken, a Raleigh native, is looking to take on second-term GOP Rep. Renee Ellmers in the central North Carolina district, which President Barack Obama lost by 15 points in 2012. Raleigh-based WRAL reported Thursday that Aiken is building a campaign team and is expected to formally announce next month.

Democratic operatives said Aiken has met with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee about the campaign. When asked, the DCCC declined to comment on whether any such meeting took place.

Clay must not be getting any singing gigs or Broadway plays lately. While I think he is an articulate, educated man, I have a feeling this run is based on his agenda for LGBT. Good luck in beating out the Republican in that district.

At least he is actually from the district in North Carolina in which he wishes to run.

...but one does have to wonder:

Apart from having won a singing contest on television, what are his qualifications?

Support for anal sex, dead babies, and Obamacare. What else matters?

I am a big fan of Clay’s voice & enjoyed his stage work, even if I disagree with him on most everything political. He is a very smart young man and quite politically involved & savvy. He has served as a UNICEF ambassador, testified before congress and started and heads The National Inclusion Project (education based, summer camp inclusion for children who have special needs). I wouldn’t be surprised if he focuses not only on LGBT issues, but education as well. Not that I’d vote for him, did enough of that on Idol :)

Over 25 and a U.S. citizen who has lived here all his life. That's all the qualification he needs.

Yes, but is he also weak on terrorism, and does he hate Christians? And is he willing to kow-tow to radical islamic fundamentalists here in the U.S.?

Because these are also important to the success of the modern democrat.

His candidacy won’t go anywhere — 14 year old girls can’t vote [except on AI].

I don’t see it happening. I don’t think anyone in the Carolinas would vote for an wishy-washy gay man who pretends to be a moderate for Senator . . . . .

If Obama lost that district by 15 points, he is gonna be toast. He’ll lose every bit as badly as Nancy Kulp did in Central PA back in the 80’s.

New dictum in the USA: Those whose candidacy we expect to go no where will yet prevail even if they lost the election!
