SYKESVILLE, MD (AP) - The Maryland medical examiner's office says a former aide to U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander hanged himself in his parents' home, just weeks after his arrest on child pornography charges.

Grace is accepted by faith (Eph 2:8&9) ... regeneration follows, but I personally believe it is instantaneous (2 Cor 5:17)

And though God uses people to win souls, I believe God witnesses to them without people (Romans 1:18 - 22)

Salvation, or regeneration, is the gift of God. Any choice by man or woman is a work, including choosing Christ and choosing to profess faith (both good things). Regeneration, and becoming spiritually alive, has to precede the work of believing in and choosing Christ. And it's that way "so that no one can boast" of receiving (the gift of) salvation by (the work of) choosing Christ. In short, salvation is a gift by grace, through the faith that follows. Peace, A

When death is reported on FR, the comments are predictable. One of the common ones is the consignment to hell. That one has always made ne cringe.

Daring to declare the Mind of God is not only presumptuous, it may well be dangerous to ones own eternal fate.

We pray for all, because God operates beyond time and space. "Before" and "after" are not applicable in His eternal Now. Who can say what God can do? Who can say that God "cannot" respond to a prayer for mercy?

Of course God has the ability to save a sinner after he is dead, but based on His Word we know that He does not for “as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Salvation is always of the Lord. (Jonah 2:9) He chose before the foundation of the earth whom He would save in Christ. (see Ephesians 1) Only those born again this side of eternity will be saved. (See John 3) “The salvation of the righteous is of the Lord.” (Psalm 37:39a)

GOD can forgive us our Trespasses we do in this world IF we in contrite heart ask. That forgiveness doesn't excuse nor end for us from the cause and effects of our actions while still in this world. I reckon sometimes that may include the pains of conscience & shame.
