Study: Obama Helped Sway Americans in Favor of Gay Marriage

President Barack Obama has helped sway Americans in support of same-sex marriage, according to a newly released study by the Human Rights Campaign, which notes that he used the word "gay" 272 times in public speeches, more than any of his predecessors.

"Words matter an enormous amount, and when President Obama uses his platform to declare that LGBT people are just as American as anyone else, it has a huge and historic effect. President Obama has helped the American people get to know LGBT people on a personal level, and evidence suggests that when people know us, they don't want to discriminate against us," said HRC President Chad Griffin.

"President Obama has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of LGBT people, and the power of his rhetoric has been an essential part of that legacy."

The report noted that American support for gay marriage has risen from 40 percent in 2008, when Obama took office, to 53 percent in 2013, pointing to Gallup poll statistics. It added that Obama used words like "lesbian," "gay," "bisexual" and "transgender" in his public statements more than former Presidents George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan did.

In May 2012, Obama became the first U.S. president to openly declare his support for same-sex marriage, noting that his opinion on the issue had "evolved" over time.

What evidence is there that Americans are in favor of homosexual marriage? It has mostly been imposed by unelected judges.

Mainly he changed his mind in the national spotlight, and led sheep-like blacks to suddenly change all their normal prejudices and actually support homos. All because their homie (nyuk nyuk?) told them to.

No doubt, especially blacks and Hispanics, who, most of which opposed it.

Just like the country lowered its moral standards thanks to Bill Clinton (oral sex isn’t sex, you silly grade-schoolers), the country now is ready to do the same by embracing Obama’s choom-gang lifestyle.

America has become one hell of a depraved cesspool.

A “study” by the Human Rights Campaign? Are you kidding me? LOL! It should have been obvious how this one was going to turn out.

True. The actual evidence - referendums and legislation by elected officials - says that gay marriage is not approved by the general public. 38 states have either passed referendums or laws through their elected officials forbidding it. This "study" is one more brick in the wall of the Big Lie.

They’re grasping at straws for obama “success” stories. I suppose this will be one of the snoozer topics he’ll be blathering on about during the SOTU.

Judges and politicians are making these decisions, not the people. Gay marriage does not have the consent of the people, just the elites in government and the media.

Why? Because he is a gay man married to a woman?

The president’s lie about “evolving” on gay marriage is about as convincing as Hillary’s soul preacher accent.

Primarily because none of the other four presidents were so utterly consumed by the issue, as the current one appears to be.

I wonder why that might be? ;-)
