On the eve of President Obama’s State of the Union Address, a new poll from Washington Post-ABC News shows that fully 63 percent of Americans have either little no confidence Obama will make the right decisions. The public is evenly split on whether Obama is honest and trustworthy, with 49 percent of Americans answering in the affirmative, and 48 percent answering negatively.
A bare majority of Americans, 52 percent, feel Obama does not understand the problems of people like them – a shocking downward turn for Obama on an important likeability issue on which he dominated in 2012. A majority of Americans. 51 percent, also believe Obama is not a strong leader. His disapproval rating stands currently at 50 percent, with 41 percent disapproving strongly – only 23 percent support him strongly. 50 percent of Americans have an unfavorable impression of the president.
For perhaps the first time, Obama’s personal popularity seems to be suffering from his inability to govern effectively. He is not being damaged by the NSA scandal, for example – a solid 59 percent of Americans think Obama either went too far or was just right in how he changed NSA policy in the aftermath of surveillance revelations. Instead, his personal popularity is dropping – a shocking development for a president who has largely relies on that popularity to push forward policy.
The polls are deceptive. These same drones, who say they are "disappointed" in Obama and hate his policies, would nevertheless STILL pull the lever for him if given another chance.
Yeah, they’d probably vote for him again regardless of the dissonance...
but I still think it’s significant that they poll contrary to their worldview assumptions. Those assumptions are the basis of why they think the way they do.

They really truly do live in an entirely different reality.
Recently during a debate with one they became increasingly frustrated with what they perceive as a lack of empathy for our fellow man, along with a whole host of virtues and morals that they see wrong with the world.
It was then it dawned on me what this alternate reality was. It is a lack of God in their lives and they are laying all the sins of humanity (Americans, Rich, White you pick the descriptor) at the feet of government as their god to fix things.
Most people are desperate for something bigger in their lives. Modern culture has done away with what used to be termed “the central mysteries.” (That’s my recollection of what religion, mysticism and worship was called.) We live in a mechanistic world. Liberals have transferred their desire to worship something bigger to something they can see, government.

Who are the people in the 37%?
probably half of that 38% get their news through hear-say...don’t read, don’t follow stories, DON’T CARE
He has done SOOOO much damage to the prospects of future African Americans who might chose to pursue the nation’s highest office ....

He’s embodied a lot of the worst stereotypes from “lazy” (self-admitted) to “incompetent” and covered a lot of territory in between.
Nope, half the US gets some sort of entitlement. They might not like Obama but they will still vote for him.
That's because a majority of the 37% (about 20% of the population) that are disappointed in Obama, are disappointed because he hasn't implemented enough socialism/marxism.

Yeah, I’m still flabbergasted that there are a portion of voters who say in polls that they think that Obama is too conservative. How is that even possible?
This state of the union address will mean nothing except to the uninformed. What a sad time for America.

From a liberal standpoint, that would be their legal defense.
