The House GOP’s new immigration framework will include support for a path to legal status for immigrants living in the country illegally, according to The New York Times.

The one-page outline specifically opposes a “special pathway to citizenship,” according to the report.

The GOP’s statement of principles on immigration reform will, however, endorse a pathway to citizenship for children who were brought to the country illegally, according to the report. The outline quotes a passage from House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), who has previously endorsed the proposal.

Back to path to citizenship. I always said that the GOP will include that if they really want a deal with Dems.

Any path to citizenship for illegals is a special path, so the above is a lie.
You know what's not a special path?

If they want to be US (voting) citizens then they leave the country and get on the line for those who didn't come here illegally. In other words they never get the same status as those who came here legally.

I have noticed that Dems don't even seem to be demanding this anymore.
