MARK LEVIN EXPLODES ON GOP ESTABLISHMENT, URGES HOUSE TO PASS RESOLUTION TO REIN IN OBAMA
The Blaze ^ | Jan 28, 2014

Conservative radio host Mark Levin exploded with fury on Tuesday as he spoke of the “constitutional crisis” in the United States and the “impotent” GOP establishment, which he says won’t put up a real fight. He also suggested a way for House Republicans to “get back in the game” and reassert its authority.

Photo Credit: MarkLevin.com “I know it’s hard to believe we’ve come to this point, particularly when we have mainstream media commentators who act like this is no big deal — in fact, think this is justified because Congress is obstructing the president’s agenda,” Levin said of the federal government’s overreach and related scandals.

That’s when the radio host lost his composure.

“Congress has the power to obstruct the president’s agenda! That’s the whole point! Particularly a president like this,” he screamed. “That’s their job!”

Levin went on to say that the U.S. doesn’t hold an election every four years so the country can have a “king.”

“And our Constitution is never up for election regardless!” he said.

He then accused House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other Republican leaders of surrendering the “power of the purse,” rendering the GOP “impotent.” However, there’s still something House Republicans can do, he said.

“Congress is a co-equal branch of the government, and the House of the Representatives is a co-equal branch of the United States Senate,” Levin explained. “The House of Representatives should pass a resolution. If the president of the United States can unconstitutionally assert powers he is not granted under the Constitution, and do so repeatedly and brazenly, and send his staff out to the mainstream media outlets to do the same thing — then one body of our government must act.”

Levin urged the House to pass a resolution that includes language similar to this:

“Whereas the president of the United States has asserted executive powers not granted to him under the United States Constitution, the United States House of Representatives hereby asserts as an equal governing institution that all such acts by the president of the United States are null and void. The House of Representatives further asserts that no federal department, federal official or federal employee is authorized to appropriate any sum of taxpayer dollars in furtherance of any unconstitutional act by the president of the United States.”

Yes, yes, we know this. So what are we gonna do? Lament about the conditions, or GET ACTIVE?

Damn....I haven’t listened to Mark in too long. Out of time here tonight, but I’m going to find the audio of this and listen tomorrow.

Thanks, Laz!

Not exactly sure what the proper course of action is at this time.

Outside of an Article V convention of the states, I see no civil solution.

Electing republicans is an absolute waste of time and energy.

Waste of time. Sorry but a resolution is wallpaper. Or toilet paper. Not law.

Good point...

A RESOLUTION is not binding....must pass a BILL to have any effect

Levin makes very good points, but, he missed some basic things in Civics 101

In fact, IMPEACHMENT is the best method here. Even if the Senate refuses to convict...it puts every Senator on record that they support Obama’s actions

I have thought about this a lot. I have decided that the time has come that Obama needs to be impeached in the House. The GOP looks as bad as Obama for allowing Obama to act lawlessly. I know they fear losing their jobs because the media will vilify them...but, sometimes people have to stand up and do the right thing in spite of their fears. The American people are disgusted that no one will pull in the reins on Obama. This is ridiculous watching what he gets away with. Do the right thing, Consequences be damned. If the House fails to act, they will be responsible for any actions the citizens could take out of desperation to stop this criminal activity by the Democrats.

If nothing else, its sets the precedent that the POTUS cannot act outside the Constitution with nobody calling him out and trying to stop him.

respectfully disagree. passing a toothless resolution does not get the House back into the game

(and they are SO damned worthless as legislators or representatives of the people that they won’t even pass a resolution anyway...but even if they did, it would be of no real effect)

none

Hey, sometimes what you do is hoist a flag. It’s a start, it’s a rallying point. Right now — and you can see it on this very thread! — the troops are demoralized and confused. Start here. Symbolic, yes, but symbols mean something.

I heard him read this PERFECT resolution today.

Now it's up to us to send this to all of our reps and hammer them until they act.

We need a clear, and oft repeated, factual enumeration of those assertion of powers not granted. There’s a lot of hysteria built on hysteria instead of facts, and without facts we’ll fast get to the point of both sides just impassionedly screaming at each other. This is not something to screw up in the heat of the moment; we need the ability to, with a one-page accurate summary, hammer home “Obama is guilty of X, Y, Z, P, D & Q” in an unambiguous manner. Shouting “Barry SUX!” may be true but is unhelpful.

The resolution does have teeth if presented as articles of impeachment.

I agree. Articles of Impeachment are in order. Vote.

Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS attacking conservative groups to alter an election, abuse of power.

Even if the Senate refuses to ratify the articles of impeachment, he will go down as the first black socialist president to be impeached.

“In fact, IMPEACHMENT is the best method here. Even if the Senate refuses to convict...it puts every Senator on record that they support Obama’s actions”

Ten Republican Senators chose to vote “not guilty” during the Clinton impeachment trial. 100% of the Democrat Senators voted “not guilty.” Being on the record for supporting Clinton’s perjury did not seem to affect the careers of the 55 Senators voting not guilty.
