Posted on 01/30/2014 2:28:28 PM PST by Aria
Boeing painted a plane with the Seahawks logo, including a big 12, and today that plane is flying over eastern Washington in a 12 pattern. You can see the progress here.
There are signs with "12" on them all over Seattle. This town is totally into it.
SEAHAWKS are predicted to win!!
although I have to say everyone has a ton of respect for Manning.
"....12th man is going to be mighty quiet most of the day"
Washington state 12th man ping
LOL...what a great photo...
..."plus...Maddan's SUPERBOWL XLVIII game has predicted 8 out of 10 winners...they pick Bronco's"
Hmmmm..... What a unique use for an emery board.
I thought they were used mainly by women......... to sharpen their tongues
What’s this about the 12th imam?
My impression is it will be precision versus wild and crazy. Should be a great game.
Seattle is wild and crazy right now - banners with the number 12 are everywhere.
“Madden’s SUPERBOWL XLVIII game has predicted 8 out of 10 winners...”
I was glad Madden picked Super Bowl XLV wrong!
Went out the other day and saw three Colts - Manning jerseys in our small town. Indiana still loves the man!
My home town, Oak Harbor, WA is having a rally at the H.S. football stadium on Saturday.
A computer picked Seattle by about 3 points I think.
Either way it ought to be a better SB than we usually end up with.
I think the Seahawks have changed into kind of a dirty team. They didn’t used to be.
Are you referring to Sherman? He’s really a good guy in real life, fairly interesting, and there was more to that story than it first appeared.
Don't forget to write that check again this year to the Aggies because you're too unoriginal to come up with your own slogan for your fans.
I hope the Seahawks win, but they need to up their game. The playoff against the 49ers was sloppy by both teams. Neither showed championship calibre.
I hope it is a close nail-biter, rather than having one team rack up a massive point total while the other team wishes they were home watching on TV.
Boeing probably added another $100-200,000 to the cost of the next 787 off the assembly line (or one of its military contracts) to cover the cost of the flight.
Seahawks and 49ers both are very strong defensive teams.
A low score was expected. Sherman is the best safety in NFL with more interceptions and more knockdowns than any other player.
Nope, not him specifically. The team.
They’re the most penalized in the NFL this season and a number of sports writers have wriiten about them cheating.
Boeing is a private sector corporation. So long their planes are selling like hot cakes, they can add whatever they can get away with.
Seahawks play aggressively. They do not intentionally break anyone’s legs. Record shows they have caused less injuries than most other teams. That is not playing dirty. Any aggressive defense will cause penalties. Seahawks managed get the best win/loss record in entire NFL during 2013 in spite of the penalties.
Hope they also put that the trademark belongs to Texas A&M.
There are rules in football. The Seahawks have decided to break the rules often and play the odds of not getting called on it.
That’s dirty football and ruins the game.
They have actually ‘leased’ the use of the 12th Man from A&M.
I have to agree - the penalties are awful.
I’m not talking about the ‘12th man’
I’m talking about coaches who tell their players to go out & break the rules, because they won’t be flagged for all of them. I think the coaches should be fined & penalized for unsportsman-like conduct
I know, and they have to mention A&M when it is used. There are only limited places they can use it.
No, only sore losers call Seahawks play dirty. There is nothing illegal about aggressive playing. I hope Seahawks sack Manning multiple times on Sunday. And Sherman is sure to intercept Manning a few times as he has done all year long.
“There is nothing illegal about aggressive playing”
In reality it’s unsportsman-like conduct, at the very least. Coaches who tell their players to go out & break the rules, because they wont be flagged for all of them....that’s not just aggressive playing.
It’s too bad you can’t see the difference
As long as the Seahawks don't put "12th MAN" it is not a trademark. They only put the number 12 which a number cannot be trademarked.
Hmmmmmm...the last time Denver was written off for a super bowl win, it was the year they played Green Bay. Denver won that game easily. Also, the Chinese New Year this year is represented by the horse. Sorry, Seattle. Not going to be your year.
” Also, the Chinese New Year this year is represented by the horse. “
That might be a factor if the Super Bowl was in Beijing. (I shouldn’t have said that - it might give Roger Goodell ideas.)
I got an email from an Aggie buddy yesterday about that settlement.
Seattle paid Texas A&M $100,000 in a lump sum for licensed use of the 12th Man concept. The NFL franchise cant display 12th Man in any official merchandising, though they can use the No. 12. The Seahawks also pay A&M $5,000 annually as part of a deal thats been extended to 2020, but theres no extra money in it for the Aggies with the Seahawks in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
A&M trademarked the 12th Man in 1990. Cook said theres no way to know how much money the trademark brings the school in licensing fees, but its priceless.
Seattle is the more balanced team and hoists its first Lombardi...
Good thing they’ll actually play the game.
Sounds like sour grapes, my FRiend...
How did you feel about the dominance by Seahawk’s defense today? Do you still think they played dirty!
It was the most fun football game I watched all year! We are the Superbowl champs!
