Knox's fury after being found GUILTY AGAIN
Mail online ^ | 30 January 201 | Lucy Crossley and James Nye

Amanda Knox told Italian authorities that 'they'll have to catch me and pull me back kicking and screaming' following her guilty verdict for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher.

Her defiance raises the spectre of a long drawn-out extradition battle after the decision of judges in Florence to overrule her previous acquittal and sentence her to 28 years and six months in prison.

She lied over and over again during investigation so why should anyone believe her now? I see her team of lawyers who went on a PR campaign before her trial worked on some people.

While I wouldn’t call her “innocent” I don’t believe she was involved with the murder.

She seemed like a stupid young woman who associated with the wrong crowd, played stupid games and won stupid prizes.

Same goes for the victim, Meredith Kercher. If you use drugs with and screw scumbags from third world countries you should consider the possibility that things might not end well.

he said they were involved and then his sentence was cut. the whole timeline is in Wiki.
Italian system is different but he basically pled guilty, no trial, and was sentenced.
they can’t place her or the guy at the scene. DNA was collected with dirty gloves,it’s taped. This is a joke.

Yes, I think she’s guilty as well. I mean what was the knife doing at her boyfriends house? Why was it bleached? Why was her DNA on the handle and the victims DNA on the blade? Why did she blame her boss when he was nowhere near the place? Why was her footprints found with blood? Why did she say the evil police were interrogating her all night when it was only a few hours? Why did she say she was at her boyfriends all night and then he says she wasn’t? Unless all this evidence is baloney, made up, and they make out like the Italian police are out to get her, why because she’s American? Oh so suddenly Italy is like Iran? Out of the millions of Americans who visited Italy in the past 50 years, how many were framed for murder or any crime for that matter by the Italian cops? Oh but suddenly Amanda Knox is solely because they really really hate her, yeah Ok.

If she is so innocent why did she lie and blame an innocent man (her boss) for the murder?! She is a creep and IMO guilty.

I read to be convicted of a crime in Italy you have to be convicted twice THEN it goes to appeal. Basically it’s harder to convict someone in Italy than it is in the US because of that. So you could say she has been convicted 3 times

flight? she was acquitted and came home. how is that flight?
going back for a retrial would be the height of blind stupidity regardless of guilt or innocence.

If I had tried to implicate an innocent man as a murderer, I wouldn’t think I had too many ‘rights’...

“According to the detectives, Knox told them she had met Lumumba at the basketball court at 8:30 pm, before going with him to Via della Pergola 7 where Lumumba had committed the murder, thereby implicating herself as his accomplice. Knox signed a statement, written by the police in official Italian, which said: “I have a hard time remembering those moments but Patrick had sex with Meredith, with whom he was infatuated, but I cannot remember clearly whether he threatened Meredith first. I remember confusedly that he killed her.”...

What sort of person does that?

Italian courts are joke. The Romans have been trying and convicting innocent people for over 2000 years. It’s time to leave her alone.

True that. I'm not comfortable with the concept of convictions in absentia, and a criminal justice system given the power to repeatedly prosecute a case until achieving the desired results. As to her guilt or innocence, who among us knows? Ms. Knox, however, would do well at this point to shaddupaboudit, and fade away. Public statements insulting the SPQR will simply ensure their continued pursuit.

Double jeopardy laws are there for a good reason in the USA.
Italy should have gotten it right the first time if she is guilty.

Yeah that’s what I read, they used luminol and found her footprints in the blood. Hello, how did they get there? Did someone take her shoes and slap them around the floor? But she says she was at her boyfriends all night - which by the way he denies - so does this mean she was barefoot or has an extra pair of shoes “the real killer” used?

some statements on here seem to be made without a whit of knowledge.anyone reads the case can see this is about prosecutors trying to make themselves right regardless. Same as we get here all too often.

no you are wrong, it is akin to being overturned on appeal here, the prosecutor can refile

Actually no, when its overturned on appeal here there is no trial involved. Judges look at the evidence presented in the first trial then overturn the result. They do not acquit the defendant as they did in the second Italian trial. If they did there would be no retrial.
