Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell still maintains a comfortable lead over his primary opponent, businessman Matt Bevin. But while most polls show McConnell leading Bevin by a wide margin, the latest Rasmussen survey shows him doing better than McConnell would in a general-election matchup against Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes. (Previous polls have showed them performing similarly against her.) In a head-to-head race, Bevin leads Grimes by four points, 40 to 36 percent; McConnell is running even with Grimes, with each commanding 42 percent of the vote.
Republicans will select their nominee in a May 20 primary. McConnell remains the strong favorite in the Republican contest, but the latest poll does suggest that Bevin and his Tea Party–fueled attacks against the Senate majority leader are picking up some steam.
In the general election, President Obama is likely to drag down the Democratic nominee: Right now, 60 percent of likely voters in Kentucky disapprove of his job performance, compared with 51 percent of likely voters nationally.

I was busy at work today and didn’t get to do my usual story search. So I’m catching up, and was very happy to see so many stories on McConnell likely losing his primary. I can’t see or read or post enough of them. I hope everybody’s enjoying them as much as I am!!

Amen! Just hope KY folks don’t overlook the importance of the primary. Looks Bevin is closing the gap, and hopefully he’ll get the financial support needed.
We may lose another Senate seat in Georgia.
Michelle Nunn, daughter of Sam Nunn, a “moderate” Democrat with state wide name recognition, is leading all GOP primary candidates.
Voter turn out is the key.
If Georgia Blacks and Hispanics turn out at the same rate white Republicans turn out, that seat is GONE.
This is huge....Bevin has a better chance of keeping the seat GOP than McConnell does.
GOP Media needs to get behind Bevin, and force McConnell to drop out...if they truly want the seat to stay GOP
McC people are committed no matter what even if it means losing in November.

He was elected governor in 1970 when the Old South still elected many, many moderate Democrats.
2014 is a new chapter in a new book.
40% of eligible voters are non-white, and they vote 80% Democrat.
If Blacks and Hispanics turn out in high numbers, that means white voters must vote close to 75% Republican to win.
Whites in Atlanta tend be more liberal than the rest of the South, so trying to hit that 75% number is going to be really tough.

It's hard to do a push poll on head to head match ups.
Here's the question, for four different GOP candidates:
“If the candidates for U.S. Senate this fall were
Democrat Michelle Nunn and Republican Paul
Broun, who would you vote for?”
I'm not qualified to comment on how representative the polling sample is, so maybe that's flawed.
It will come down to Black turn out in 2014.
Less than 40% of eligible Black voters turned out to vote for Obama in 2012.
The Democrat Party has targeted Georgia for total focus on turn out in 2014.
