If you're a Republican senator running for reelection this year, the odds you're facing a primary challenger are 50/50. Literally.

Six of the 12 Republicans seeking another term in November have drawn primary challengers running to their right. But not all campaigns are created equal. While these challengers are often grouped together in conversations about 2014, some stand a much better chance of winning than others.

But not all campaigns are created equal.

Yeah. No thanks to Juan "El Guapo" McCain and his Campaign Finance Reform Act.

More truthfully The Incumbent Protection Act.

The prospects look gloomy.

Mitch McConnell is said to be losing.

A top contender for his replacement is said to be Lamar : (

I would think that you don’t need a lot of money when it comes to conservatives: We are more activist. Unfortunately there are too many instances where we don’t take advantage of our opportunities. Therefore I would have to agree with most of the article.

The Washington Post will always spin its coverage in favor of RINO incumbents. If the voter base is angry enough, and I believe it is, the chances of some of these incumbents losing in the primaries increase. The chamber of commerce and country club types will bankroll the establishment guy, but their funds will go for naught if their man falls to a Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul.

Example: Our Calif Governator called for a special election with 5 conservative issues on the ballot. There are about a million hard-core Republicans out of 5.5 million overall. They didn’t how up and Arnold then became a liberal.

Another: The class of 94 congresswoman from Ky. She kept winning in a Democrat district. When she was talked into running for Gov against a corrupt incumbent(gop) she lost. The corrupt one went on to lose in November-stupid Republican voters in a RED state.

I didn’t remember that Anne Northrup ran for governor but knew a Dem reclaimed the seat from her. People in Louisville are strongly liberal.

Is there any state more stuck on incumbency than SC? Thurmond and Hollings answered that question: No!

Conservatives are most successful when flying under the radar. No one saw Ted Cruz as a viable contender for the GOP-e candidate, Dewhurst, in Texas. The problem is that usually the conservatives are stupid and run six candidates against the incumbent, splitting their vote and allowing the incumbent to go back to D.C.....a cycle that gives us lifetime RINO seats.

I showed up and voted for all of those conservative measures. When they were all overwhelmingly rejected by the voters, that was the hand writing on the wall for me. Within 12 months, I relocated my family and business to Texas.
