Though much is taken, much abides - and we remain oath-bound warriors.

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

I am off for home via the store. Must buy a watch.
Even with a new battery, it won’t keep time.
Back in a bit.

The Big Three. I am not sure what the significance of the sign was. The picture was taken in Berlin in 1945 by Lew Grace.

I haven't needed to - although I thought I would this morning. But despite all the ice around the area, the path to the van was clear.

Thank you. This one is of the Brandenburg Gate. The armed soldier is a member of the 208th Engineer Combat Battalion. I am not sure why he is armed as the war was over but I know they did keep their weapons after the war ended.

First snowfall since the rain. Acting like graphite on the roads.

We have had no moisture since the thaw in January. We need it. It insulates the utilities.

Wishing you rain for the utilities JJ...we haven’t had rain for 44 days & counting.
Thank goodness the temps have dropped back down to highs in the 60’s to compensate.
How’s things in Valdez?
