Retreat: Obama Admin May Extend Plans Canceled by Obamacare for 3 Years
Mediaite ^ | 2/5/2014 | Noah Rothman

This is either a glaring admission of defeat from the White House or… no, that’s really all it could be.

After weeks of defending the cancellation of health plans insurers discontinued in 2013 in order to comply with the Affordable Care Act’s coverage mandates, the White House announced in November of last year that it was urging insurers to reinstate those plans. The catch was, of course, that most insurers would be unable to turn on a dime and reinstate those plans. Furthermore, the administration allowed individual states leeway to determine whether or not they would even allow insurers to reinstate those cancelled plans.

President Barack Obama’s maneuver was more of a political solution than a policy fix, and a temporary one at that. But that appears to be changing.

“Avalere Health CEO Dan Mendelson said Thursday that the administration may let policyholders keep that coverage for an additional three years,” the AP reported on Thursday.

While Mendelson apparently stressed that “no decision has been made” and that this suggestion arose as the result of “informal discussions” with the administration, this is merely the latest float that should terrify insurers who are increasingly on the hook for the added costs associated with covering the sick and infirmed without being able to compensate for those losses with additional revenues from the healthy.

” - - - the administration may let policyholders keep that coverage for an additional three years, - - - “

And thus illegally rewrite Federal Law, again.

Impeach Obama in 2014, Period.

This is not a retreat. It is the aggressive action of a tyrannical dictator.

In three years Obama will be out of office. I think that’s the idea. It becomes the next President’s problem then.

Obama has 7 million homes bulldozed and then when he finds out the people lost their homes he tells the demolition crews to leave them up.

As a single payer, I want all the same breaks as those who have been given waivers by O’s executives orders.

In a nutshell, that will kill ZeroKare, as it should be.

But to not give me the same consideration as his special interests is a 14th Amendment violation (if I have my amendments correct) - separate but equal.

I thought Obama cancelled my substandard plan out of compassion for me, seeing as how I was too stupid to realize how bad it was. Now he is considering allowing me to suffer three more years at the hands of my own stupidity again?

"Obama has 7 million homes bulldozed and then when he finds out the people lost their homes he tells the demolition crews to leave them up."

This reminds me of the movie Vacation where the new-car salesman presents Clark Griswold a new car that is not what was promised while the dealer crushes the old Griswold family car meant as trade-in.

The only and I mean only reason this will be done is because these no good commies (Democrats) are afraid of losing The Senate and lots of other election due to popular revulsion over 0bammyKare.

The Obungu White House will do this due to pressure from Democrat candidates. They could give a crap about the America public except that they may not vote Democrap

Apparently the old “you’re too stupid to realize how bad you had it” routine didn’t go over well. They got about two weeks out of it. I’m guessing “think how much better we’ve made your life by putting you out of work” isn’t going to be a biggie either.

And the corporate lawyers will tell the insurance companies “Sure, go ahead and sell illegal policies. The Preezy of the United Steezy said it was OK. That’s solid, bro!”

Except that won’t work...insurers have already eliminated those plans.

This is like a farmer destroying his crops because the government is paying him not to bring it to market (yes, that happens!)...and then the government saying, “Well, you can go ahead and sell that wheat if ya want to, Mr. Jones.”

Now the Clown can claim he kept the programs “allowable” when the negotiations and contracts for all those plans had already expired.

Another Banana Republic move that, if we had an honest media, would be mocked.

That is exactly right. This is about keeping the Dem. majority in the Senate and assuring Hillary’s win in 2016. Yes, Obama will rewrite the law for purely political reasons and Boehner and McConnell will allow it to happen.
