The owner of an Alabama Chinese restaurant named "Good Friend" allegedly shot at a customer who complained about a bug in her eggroll Thursday night. The bullet narrowly missed 20-year-old Birmingham resident Jatari Walker who told the Daily News she is scarred by the entire experience.
"I can't sleep," she said. Saturday afternoon. "And since it happened I've had no appetite."
Walker ordered a combination platter and eggroll from the Good Friend Chinese and Seafood restaurant on Dennison Ave. Thursday evening. After paying her $7 bill she went back to her car and discovered a roach inside. "I thought I need to take this back," she said.
The customer went back and asked for a refund and said the owner Chun Hin Ching, 52, was unhappy with her because she announced her discovery in front of other customers. After an argument he repaid the money and Walker who is now a former frequent customer of the business turned and walked to the exit.
That's when Ching drew a handgun and fired a single shot over her head.

In all the China-towns in all the cities in America, is there a single one with a Mein Street?
doh!
If he was cleaning a shotgun, I seriously doubt he accidently sprayed multiple bullets into the preachers house. It was either multiple shot (slug) holes or, if bullet holes, it was intentional. Accuracy counts.
With 5 egg roll you get bug.
A roach does make a statement that a ladybug wouldn’t.
It wasn’t multiple bullets. It was a spray from a slug. Is that how you say it? It was very amusing though I suppose it would have been bad if someone had been sitting on the couch in the line of spray. It was a great conversation starter for sure!
“”I can’t sleep,” she said. Saturday afternoon. “And since it happened I’ve had no appetite.”
She stumbled on a new, revolutionary weight loss method. Now hundreds will be streaming to the restaurant just asking to be shot at.
With six shots you get eggroll.
Well -— she ordered fried lice, didn’t she?
Ka-ching!
Call the lawyers.
Not bad, but I prefer their General Tso chicken.
That cook was too tai chi about his food being criticized
The woman has obviously never watched the series “Survivorman”, where all sorts of little criters are munched.
Well, that’s the lo mein point..to have chow Fun!
The moral of this story is don't F*** with Alabama Chinese cuz they will pop a cap in yo a**...
A Japanese patron of the restaurant, who witnessed the entire scene, told police “MISO SCared!, and remarked that the aftermath was very Yaki.”
He is going to Suki the establishment .
Meanwhile, the Korean customer decided to just bibimBOP outta there!
Why did this story remind me of the McDonalds “Hot Coffee” incident? Someone trying to sue someone? Did she “plant” the roach herself and then go back? Lots of unanswered questions leaving me in suspense.
Or the “finger” at Wendy’s.
What you say makes a rot of sense, but rotsaruck trying to prove it!
.......well, firing the gun was stupid beyond belief!
.......but having dealt with irate “black female customers” many times, I’m sure she made a helluva scene in front of his other customers and thoroughly provoked him and was not an innocent little lamb.
In sentencing, he should get “a little” credit for shooting the doorframe instead of her. He may have fired the round just to get her to quit hollering and get her out of his restaurant.
No excuse for pulling and firing the gun though and it just gives gun grabbers raw meat to use against us 2nd Ammendment types.
The waitress didn't seem to be too concerned when we pointed that out to her. Funny incident concerning the waitress. When she stopped by our table, she had her arms full of stuff including syrup dispensers, one of which was cockeyed and was steadily pouring syrup everywhere, on the floor, the booth, the tray. It looked like a scene from a comedy.
I did contact IHOP via the corporate website, never heard back from them. Haven't been back to any IHOP since.
