Obama: 'That's the Good Thing as a President, I Can Do Whatever I Want'
The Weekly Standard ^ | 10 Feb 2014 | DANIEL HALPER

President Obama "quipped" today during a visit to Monticello with the French president, "That's the good thing as a President, I can do whatever I want."

Via the pool report:

Monticello

At 4:45 POTUS and president Hollande walked out from a portico and strolled in Front of your pool with Leslie Bowman, president of the Monticello Foundation. Looking at a terrace she said that Jefferson loved to admire the landscape from there. POTUS said that he'd like to take a look and seemed delighted to "break the protocol". "That's the good thing as a President, I can do whatever I want" he quipped, walking to the terrace with his guest and Ms. Bowman. Pool now in the mansion as the leaders will come and visit Jefferson's study.

The comment came around the time the White House announced it would be delaying the Obamacare mandate for some businesses unilaterally.

The French president is here in the U.S. on a state visit.

More notes from the pool:

Monticello POTUS and pres Hollande paid a short visit to the study as your pool was looking through an alcove over president Jefferson's bed. They admired contraptions invented by Jefferson to read and write more efficiently such as a lectern and a "polygraph". Hollande noticed that one of the books was written in French.

Ø must of been quite bored... what he really wanted to do was rummage the WH for a bust of Jefferson to send back to France.

HE DON'T KNOW NUTTIN' Holder can't explain constitutional basis for Obama's executive orders
Washington Examiner | JAN 29, 2014 | by Joel Gehrke / FR Posted by Texas Fossil

Attorney General Eric Holder couldn't explain to a Congressional Committee the constitutional basis for executive orders such as President Obama's delay of the employer mandate because he hasn't read the legal analysis -- or at least, hasn't seen it in a long time.

"I'll be honest with you, I have not seen -- I don't remember looking at or having seen the analysis in some time, so I'm not sure where along the spectrum that would come," Holder replied to Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, when Lee asked him to explain the nature of Obama's constitutional power to delay the mandate.

Sen Lee had based his question on a standard legal test, first described by US Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson, who said the president's authority to issue executive orders is strongest when he does so with the backing of Congress (category one), more dubious when he issues an order pertaining to a topic on which Congress has not passed a law (category two), and weakest when the executive order is "incompatible with a congressional command" (category three), to use Lee's paraphrase.....more at washingtonexaminer.com ...

>> POTUS and president Hollande walked out from a portico

A single dark cumulonimbus cloud suddenly appears over Charlottesville, pregnant with static electrical charge. Coincidentally, a pair of communists emerge from cover out into the open...

Could’ve been a two-fer for the ages. “Nice aim, LORD!”

Oh well, GOD has a plan and I guess that wasn’t it. ;-)

“Well with Republicans leaders like Boehner & Mcconnell Obama can do whatever he wants.”

I’m sure you meant with Conservatives like US, he can do whatever he wants, right??

What do you intend to do about it?
Fire off an angry email to your Congress Critter? That’ll achieve a lot...NOT.

Until WE, as a group, start taking up the tactics of the left,(meaning we get up off our lazy asses and start protesting in the streets), we are just whining meaninglessly on a message board.

Where is the organized national boycott of NBC advertisers, for instance?

We keep waiting for “THEM!!!” to do something about it, when we are the “THEM!” we were looking for.

* The corruption of the Grant administration
* The racial tolerance of the Wilson administration

Yep, America, you voted for him twice and there are millions more suffering now as a result and America’s respect in the world has never been lower.

he and the congress know the S is going to hit the fan soon, some predict that it will happen in the first days of March of this year. I understand the Obozo is scheduled to visit Iran in March. I don't have a crystal ball but the recent meetings he has had with the Muslim Brotherhood and the leadership of Iran, an offering of asylum for the obozo may be in the very near future.

Sorry. A polygraph is a lie detector. That snake bass turd would never go near one of those.

What Jefferson used; in fact may have invented, was a pantograph.
