Horses' future uncertain if NYC carriage rides end [de Blasio may turn them into burgers]

NEW YORK (AP) — Time may be running out for the iconic horse carriages that carry tourists around Central Park. Mayor Bill de Blasio already has declared his intention to shut down the industry, saying it is inhumane to keep horses in modern-day Manhattan.

While that debate could be over, at least one nagging question remains: What will become of the horses?

In Pennsylvania's Amish country, which is the source of many of the horses that wind up working in Central Park, this oversupply plays out weekly at the New Holland Livestock Auction. Every Monday, buyers for foreign meat factories snap up horses — many still young and healthy — that once pulled plows, buggies and carts, or even served as family pets. All have been discarded because of lackluster performance or rising costs of care.

According to the NY Slimes..."In his first State of the City address, Mr. de Blasio said New York would become the largest municipality to offer identification cards to residents regardless of their legal status, making it easier for undocumented immigrants to open bank accounts, lease apartments or borrow library books..."

Just what we need! More illegals to trash nice neighborhoods, commit crimes American won't commit, steal jobs from Americans and sponge up education and medical care they are not entitled to.

No problem. I have no problem with them doing it but the way they did it was pretty crude.

It wasn’t so much what they did as how they went about it.

From what I read, it was well advertised as the what was going to happen, and those people who wanted to see at the zoo what happens in the wild, -- minus the lions ripping up and eating the Giraffe alive. The giraffe died a very quick and painless death via a bolt gun vs a pack of lions ripping out pieces of flesh while it was still alive.

The lions have to eat meat every day. As the zoo director said, if it were a couple of pigs or an antelope or two instead of a giraffe, would anyone have cared?

Obviously not. The lions eat pounds and pounds of meat every day from one animal or another and none of the 'appalled' people seam inclined to see the lions starve instead.

Will they need to show it to vote, or can I run up there from Pennsylvania to cast my vote in their elections with no ID? ;~))

Hey, did you notice that Wilbur looks just like Ted Cruz?

That is cool. I had not noticed that before.

They need to take the horses to another city and set up a buggy ride that makes Central Park look like a cheep ride in the slums. Make it so it drives the tourists out of New York City.

Let’s sic PETA on DeBlasio. Wouldn’t that be a hoot? One set of leftists against the other.

I’d buy popcorn for all just to watch them go at each other.

Did you know that DeBlasio’s favorite movie is “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?”

He is the ultimate horse’s ass.

Everyone keeps pointing out WHY he wants to get rid of them, I’m just wondering what gives him the ability to just declare a business illegal — even in New York City.

He’s a commie, just like Obama. He doesn’t need permission, legal basis, or a conscience to do something against the law, morality, the economy or national defense.

Like any commie, he just does it and Congress does nothing.
