Cuomo shuts down de Blasio’s minimum wage plan (Socialist schooled on constitution)

One day after Mayor de Blasio suggested New York City be allowed to set its own minimum wage, Gov. Cuomo shot down the idea as economically damaging to the entire state.

Cuomo told a radio interviewer that having municipalities set their own, competing wage rates would create a “chaotic situation” and negatively “cannibalize” New York.

The mayor needs Albany’s approval to increase the minimum wage, now set at $8 an hour.

Yes. I wonder if the residents of NYC are learning something about what they did in the voting booth? Probably not. This is interesting.

So, the gov-hole thinks that localities will be competing for workers by offering higher minimun wages, but as people move towards the higher wage areas, business will move the other way. These people are truly clueless.

Favoring “the constitution of the State of New York” is not the same as favoring the Constitution of the United States of America.

Agreed, Barry Goldwater said it would be best if we sawed New York city off from the rest of the country and let it float out to sea. Obviously we can’t literally do this. The next best thing would be if this screwball Mayor could do to the big cesspool what Coleman Young did to Detroit. It’s influence on the rest of us would go way down.

I completely don’t get Cuomo’s position. Why shouldn’t one city be able to compete with another on tax rates or minimum wage? Oh well, not my concern.

Bill of rights is incorporated against the states, he has to apply and obey/observe the bill of rights as well.

I stole it from somewhere else, and they stole it from someone else.
So it’s a cycle!
